Located in the historic district three blocks from Charleston Harbor and Waterfront Park, each of the 31 all-suite guest rooms occupy a first and second floor. Built in 1841 the charming brick inn is adjacent to the Old City Market and features an intimate courtyard garden with fountains where guests can relax after touring the city. The inn’s Café Paradiso is a little coffee shop off the lobby and offers muffins and coffee. The gracious lobby is inviting with 19th century stuffed chairs as a place to sit and chat with other guests.

This is a timeshare facility and guests may expect a sale pitch, but that’s the only negative aspect of staying at this delightful inn with a two-story apartment in the heart of the city. It has a very nice European ambiance and the hotel staff is helpful and friendly. Once the car is parked, there is no need to use it again because of easy access to dining and attractions and city transportation for the sights. A gourmet Harris Teeter supermarket on East Bay Street is only a few blocks away. Read our customer reviews?

Church Street Inn Accommodations

The comfortable suites have contemporary furnishings, a full kitchen downstairs, living room and bathroom, two cable TVs, Internet access, premium bedding, and luxury toiletries. The upstairs bedroom has a second bathroom, a queen, king or two double beds. Some rooms have small balconies that look out over the courtyard or the downtown district.

Amenities offered

The inn’s location is its best feature, so close to everything in downtown Charleston. Although there is no restaurant, the small coffee shop off the lobby is nice, especially with the pretty courtyard and garden. Guests have discounted privileges at two nearby fitness centers and several full-service spas and may use the inn’s computers after hours with free Internet access.

From Charleston International Airport: Exit the airport by following the signs for I-26. Follow I-26 east toward Charleston. Take Exit 221 and bear right onto Meeting St. Proceed about a mile, and then turn left onto Hayne St. Proceed about a block, and then turn right onto Church St. Hotel is two blocks on right.
