A converted paper warehouse built around 1900, the three-floor, 37-all suite boutique hotel named after Lord Anson of England features a gorgeous lobby and sitting area where guests can mingle during the afternoon wine and cheese hour. Although there is no restaurant on-site, the inn is a short walk from fine dining establishments and the staff will gladly help with reservations or directions. The upscale Harris Teeter supermarket is right across the street. From the upstairs decks that overlook Charleston Harbor and Navy ships at Patriots Point, guests can watch activities on the streets below and the loading and unloading of foreign cargo ships.

Guests won’t be disappointed staying at this intimate hotel in the Ansonborough historic district of Charleston, close to Charleston Harbor, shopping and dining. Lodging prices are less than others in the area and the inn offers an excellent value for its location and amenities. Take a leisurely stroll through lovely parks, admire elegant homes from a bygone era, or relax in the cheery lobby or hotel pub. Check-out isn’t until noon so enjoy a long morning. Ansonborough Inn Accommodations

Spacious, clean and beautiful, guests may be surprised at the large rooms and studio lofts. Each is furnished and decorated a bit differently with antiques and art work. A few suites are available with kitchenettes, but all have Internet access, dual phone lines and voice mail.

Amenities offered

In addition to the sumptuous Continental breakfast, the inn has a complimentary afternoon wine and cheese social, and coffee, ice tea or lemonade is available all day in the lobby. The Admiral Anson Pub (part of the hotel) is a delightful authentic British pub where guests can drink a pint or two. There are also meeting and function facilities and business services.
