Customer Reviews for Andrew Pickney Inn

Found it to be quite charming - posted on 11/01/2006

I found it to be a delightful place to stay. The staff was more than helpful, the rooms were nice, the property well maintained. The location made it easily accessible to anything you wanted to do in the area. The continental breakfast could of been a little more substantial, but being outdoors on the 4th floor helped make up for it!

Don't stay here - posted on 01/09/2007

No microwave or fridge, badly insulated rooms, can hear EVERYTHING! Couldn't sleep! Seedy part of town, didnt feel safe to go out at night, overpriced, breakfast below par, view was nice off balcony, but you had to dodge the pidgeon's droppings. Won't stay here again.

I did not see any mention of the $12 per night parking fee until time to pay it. Cookies and coffee in lobby and restaurant menu guide.

Great value - posted on 10/24/2006

This hotel is in a perfect location, close to the market and within walking distance to the Battery, never needed a car. Were fortunate to be upgraded to a townhouse. Very quiet and nicely decorated. Only problem was a noisy air conditioner. Complementary breakfast was very limited, but coffee was great and roof top view an added bonus. Would enjoy another stay here.

Wonderful Place to stay in Charleston!! - posted on 10/14/2006

Perfect place to stay in Charleston. The beds were comfortable, it was quiet at night, and the hotel was beautiful. The indoor fountain on the second floor was nice (although a bit loud until we fixed it). Breakfast on the balcony was a plus. Within walking distance of many Charleston attractions: Market Street, shopping, & good restaurants. Take a carriage ride if you can during your visit--you'll learn some interesting facts about Charleston. LOVED this place, will stay here again soon!! Parking could be better, and included in the price. It costs $12 daily as of 10/2006, be prepared.

We didn't want to leave! - posted on 10/06/2006

We stayed at the Andrew Pinckney Inn during a long weekend in Charleston, and it was fabulous. The rooms were arranged well, and the bathroom was clean. We traveled with a 4 year old, so we had to go back to the hotel by 9pm so she could go to bed, and it would have been nice to have a slightly larger TV for my husband and me. But, the Inn was beautiful, clean, and just wonderful. We will be going back as soon as we can, and are recommending this Inn to all of our friends!

Outside noise caused poor sleep, breakfast at 10 a.m., no coffee, no coffee cups, banana nut bread dried out, fruit bowl poor quality

Wonderful little inn, had a very enjoyable stay. Very reasonable price for the quality of hotel. Rooftop terrace breakfast was very cute, and afternoon cookies were a nice touch. Hotel had character and grace, service was excellent, and the location fantastic.

Steps away from Everything downtown! - posted on 09/13/2006

Authentic Charm, quant and down the street from market street and all Charleston's points of interest. Hotel offers a roof top patio for complementary breakfast and free cookies, tea and coffee in the Lobby. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend. Charleston was beautiful and historic, we loved our vacation.

Charleston had me at hello - posted on 04/15/2006

On my way, I got lost, and they stayed with me on the phone till I pulled in. Amazing room, a bit small but just for two people it was great. I was amazed with the view outside the window, the indoor pond, everything was simply amazing. Will stay here again!!

Close to everything. Couldn't believe the space in the rooms (downstairs living area) and upper bedroom. Very comfortable. Breakfast on the garden terrace was an added plus. Quite enjoyable place to stay.

Wonderful - posted on 02/02/2006

This was our first time in Charleston and found the Inn online. We wanted to stay somewhere that was unique. It was a great pick. The rooms were nice and clean. The location of the Inn was wonderful. It was adjacent to Market Street and all other historical treasures. We are planning more visits to Charleston and will stay here again.

Smokey room - posted on 11/01/2005

We enjoyed our stay; the people were nice and accommodating. However, I did request a non smoking room and when we entered the room, it smelled of cigarette smoke. My request for a different room was denied, but a strong scented spay was used to overcome the smoke. This was almost as unbearable as the smoke. I would probably have reservations in staying there again even though I had no other complaint.

unfortunate - posted on 07/26/2005

Room was very small with one small window and a curtain that didn't open.So it ws very dark and cramped. No storage space. Blanket and bedspread were filthy, but were replaced immediately when we complained. Bathroom floor and walls were gross. The second night, I turned my pillow over and it appeared to be blood-stained.(Yuck) However, office staff were very pleasant and location is excellent..

Very Pleasantly Surprised - posted on 07/21/2005

Very nice inn, large room with king-sized bed, nice furnishings. Only drawback was an odor in the room, not exactly unpleasant, just different. The location of this inn is great - right around the corner from the market, carriage rides, the upscale shopping in Charleston Place and on King Street, the Waterfront, etc. For the price, this inn is excellent - very quaint. We will definitely stay here again.

What a pleasant place to stay! - posted on 03/12/2005

I could not have been happier with my stay here. The accomodations were lovely and you can't beat the location. It is in easy walking distance of everything I wanted to do in the historic district. No noise problems in the Church Street building, and the rates were a bargain! I will definitely be coming back next year.
