About the Hampton Inn Charleston-Daniel Island

A fairly new four-story chain hotel with 128 rooms located between Charleston and Isle of Palms, it has contemporary furnishings, comfortable accommodations and friendly service. Situated close to the I-526 highway, the hotel offers free airport shuttle service. For those interested in history, Daniel Island was once owned by New York's Guggenheim family and was used for cattle ranching. It was sold in the late 1990s to developers with provisions that the island be developed according to a master plan created by the Guggenheim Foundation.

There are several reasons why visitors would stay on Daniel Island, 20 minutes from Charleston, and that would be business, no room downtown or professional tennis tournaments at the Family Circle Tennis Center. Daniel Island is small, but it offers a quiet retreat in beautiful surroundings. There are limited, but good, dining options such as the Queen Anne’s Revenge, The Crab House and Cold Stone Creamery. Guests will feel right at home in the nicely decorated and spacious rooms with queen and king-size beds, a “cloud 9” comfort quality and plenty of pillow choices. Rooms also include private baths with luxury toiletries, a work desk, lounge chair, cable TV, telephone, voicemail, coffee/tea maker and hair dryer.

The complimentary breakfast buffet is good and features waffles, cereals, muffins, pastries, fruit, juice and coffee or tea. Other amenities include free high-speed Internet service, free local calls, free parking, guest laundromat, fitness center a business center and meeting rooms. There’s a medium-size outdoor pool, intimate patio with lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas and a golf course nearby for guests who enjoy a round or two.

From Charleston International Airport:
Start out going northeast on South Aviation Ave towards Perimeter Rd.
Take The I-26 E Ramp towards Charleston.
Exit onto I-526 East to Daniel Island (and Isle of Palms-this can be a little tricky) and drive seven miles; take Exit 24 to Daniel Island.
Make a right onto Fairchild St and follow the road to the hotel.
