Wonderful Inn - posted on 05/01/2007
Our room was large and comfortable and the mattress on the bed was wonderful. Having breakfast in our room and in the courtyard was a great way to start the day. The service was attentive and friendly. We will definitely return.
Loved it!!!! - posted on 08/12/2006
This is an absolutely beautiful inn! The suite was huge, with beautiful, wood, sliding pocket doors that seperated the two rooms. I would highly recommend The Rutledge House Inn. The staff was extremely friendly, accomodating, and beyond helpful! The staff, the rooms, the food, and the FREE parking make this one of Charleston's true B&B gems. The only issue we had was with the temperature of the rooms. The room was a little too warm, which is apparently a problem they are working on. Again, as a B&B aficionada and frequent quest, the John Rutledge House is one of my favorites!
Great Weekend Getaway - posted on 08/09/2005
This was my first stay at a bed and breakfast and I have to say that I was very pleased. There is such a great feel of waking up in a room that feels like home as opposed to your typical hotel room. The location here was great too. It was within easy walking distance to the Market Area and a great many shops and restaurants. The staff was friendly and a wonderful breakfast was served in our room. I would definitely stay here again.

The nights - and afternoons - we spend at the John Rutledge house were a pleasure. The staff was helpful and polite. The breakfast in the garden or room was delicious. The use of the sitting room and balcony made the stay memorable. I would recommend this B&B to anyone!

The facility is absolutely outstanding. The rooms are perfectly maintained, housekeeping is on the ball and the entire staff was helpful in all respects.
