Overall, an excellent value for the room rate. Hotel was located in a good location in the Historic District. Room reminded me of a very upscale hotel, even though the room rate was reasonable for the geographic location. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Only complaint was that the hotel ran out of parking locations, and we had to park across the street at a church. Thankfully, the church loaned the parking lot to the hotel at no charge; therefore, no difficulty was experienced in parking.

Room was extremely well decorated and spacious for the price range.

Neighborhood was a bit questionable, with a lot of people walking about late at night.

Independently owned and operated, this beautiful 126-room, six-story hotel on the corner of Meeting and Calhoun Streets is in a great location, right across from Marion Square Park where events and a weekly farmers market are held, a few blocks from the Galliard Auditorium, the Aquarium and Charleston Harbor. Decorated with historic ambiance in mind, wood floors, original artwork, English antiques and period furniture guests will enjoy their stay in one of the elegantly decorated suites. Parking is a good deal at $10/night. The hotels restaurant, the Battery Grill, offers breakfast and dinner with Southern cuisine.

This hotel is a great value, located in the heart of downtown Charleston, so close to attractions, dining and shopping. It is not your typical Holiday Inn and is more in line with a luxury hotel, but at a very affordable rate. The rooms are spacious and very clean with fine linen and extra mirrors. The front desk staff couldnt be more helpful.
