A charming 93-room timeshare inn directly over the High Cotton Restaurant, it's close to all downtown historic attractions, dining and shopping. With an Old Charleston ambiance, it has a lovely courtyard with a fountain that many of the rooms overlook. The staff is helpful and friendly and ready to assist guests with maps, directions and suggestions. An afternoon social features sherry and cookies in the lobby where visitors can meet and chat. Guests may be approached from sales staff to hear the timeshare presentation, but this may be the only negative comment on the inn.

Visitors wishing to stay here may get a discounted rate, dinner and a carriage ride if they are willing to attend a timeshare presentation. Some guests already have a sampler membership with the Bluegreen Timeshare Company. Otherwise, it’s a lovely inn in a great location. The Lodge Alley Inn Accommodations

The historic-themed guest rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and clean. All have wood floors and high ceilings, some with gas fireplaces. Baths are private with luxury toiletries and plenty of towels. Choice of rooms includes a loft with upstairs bathroom and downstairs kitchenette and one-bedroom suites have separate living rooms.

Amenities offered

Guests are pampered with lots of attention by staff members and concierge service. Amenities include free newspapers, laundry and valet, 24-hour front desk, nearby restaurant that offers room service, handicapped facilities, and free local telephone calls. Its best feature is a central location in the heart of Charleston. The pretty courtyard invites guests to relax and enjoy the city scenery and sounds with the afternoon social hour.

From Charleston International Airport: Exit airport and take the I-26 Expressway 12 miles and exit 221B (Meeting St./Visitor's Ctr.). Take a right onto Meeting Street about 1.5 miles; the hotel is 1/2 block on the right just past Market Street
