Warning! Awful - posted on 10/02/2006

I took a group of seniors and we were hit face on with the rudeness of the service desk. Come to find out it was the manager, we were told our cc was declined only to find out it was their fault for a typo! We were given someone else's room keys and then 45 mins later someone was given keys & walked in on two of our senior ladies. The microwaves did not work, some frigs didnt work and the free parking-you better get there before dinner or there won't be any! Thumbs Down!

As a first timer in Charleston, I had no idea where to stay. I picked this because of location, and I was not disappointed. True, it is not the most updated place but it was clean. It was expensive but we could walk everywhere in the historic district and King Street! The only place we drove was to the beach and everything else is only blocks away!!

Days Inn Missing A Great Opportunity - posted on 07/25/2006

This place was filthy. As others have said the location is great. But people...if one of the news magazine shows ever came in the health department would close this place down! Whatever you do...BEWARE if you look behind the nightstand. The rooms had sometype of strange odor. This place really needs some work. If you care about cleanliness, this is not the place for you. I have seen better pillows on airplanes.

Worth Airing Out - posted on 07/15/2006

The Days Inn on Meeting Street was clean, but smelled strongly of bug spray. We needed to air out the room each time we entered. EVER, because the location is right in the center of the historic district and the price so reasonable, I would 'air out' again if necessary!

The entire place is in serious need of a complete makeover (gutting and starting over). While it may be clean it is so outdated that it appears dirty. Little has been done to keep it up. Outrageous rates for what you get.

Rooms need a major facelift!! - posted on 04/11/2006

Location...location...location! That's ALL it had going on! Rooms were in need of a major overhaul! Peeling wallpaper, toilet took forever to refill. Horrible lighting! Beds not comfy. Dried vomit outside our door we had to step over during our stay. Wouldn't recommend! They have alot of nerve charging what they do! Front desk staff was not the least bit friendly. Would NEVER stay there again!

the location can't be beat but the price is expensive for what you get. The dresser was broken, water temp was out of control not to mention dangerous and the beds were uncomfortable. The staff was very nice and helpfull.

The bar service was excellent. I was given great information about Charleston. The breakfast menu was out of this world.

Beautiful Charleston - posted on 10/14/2005

the location of this property is in the best location for strolling throught the entertainment areas of Charleston, as well as the historical and architechural sights of the South. Hotel personnel were fantastic - directions and making reservations for the different tours and carriage tours.

During peak travel periods this hotel isn't cheap. Best location in Charleston, easy walking distance to everything. Great place to stay for first time visitors, but don't expect luxury accomodations! Just a basic, clean room with a small dingy bathroom. The hotel is right on Meeting street with lots of traffic ~ cars and pedestrian. Ask for a room in the back of the hotel if a quiet room is what you want. This hotel has free parking which is a big plus in this city. Good restaurants nearby: Bubba Gumps & Poogans Porch.
