This inn offers the most relaxing yet versatile get-away you can imagine. Nestled on the banks of the Ashley River, it offers opportunities for active (biking, walking, canoeing) and relaxation seeking travelers alike. Nothing will cure your daily stress like a stroll in the mesmerizing gardens of the neighboring plantation (admission included in lodging) and the tasty southern cuisine (breakfast buffet included). It's a world of its own and well worth exploring. The perfect place to "get out" but not suitable if you plan on daily visits to Charleston unless you bring your own car.

We stayed at the Inn last weekend and really were impressed. We were told by friends about a winter getaway special. It was a good deal and the place is really unique. Friendly staff, beautiful grounds, and a fireplace in our room! Would like to see more general upkeep, because we would like to continue making this a winter getaway for years to come now that we know about it.

This was a departure from your normal hotel experience. It was like camping, but with all the comforts of home, including a usable fireplace in the room. Very romantic. The adjoining plantation has beautiful grounds to stroll through. Food was great, too! We didn't have time for the horses and kayaking, but those activites are available. Consider this for your next group retreat, too.

I found this hotel on line and was hesitent on visiting because of some comments on the rooms. I'm so glad I wasn't a guinea pig and just went with my gut! What a gem! Spacious rooms, basic layout but comfortable, fantastic staff. Every guest I encountered there was beyond impressed with the property.

We live locally, but needed a place to get away. This Inn is incredible! WE loved the natural surroundings, great birding; the grounds are beautiful and they even have kayaking tours. For us, it was an adult camp with class. Just what we needed to relax and escape.

The INN at Middleton Place is a hotel that I stay at anytime I need to get away from the business world. The staff is helpful the food is GREAT and the room although a little worn gives the feel of being at home and don't have to worry about the sand you track in.
Quiet Getaway - posted on 05/03/2006
The Inn is 30-40 minutes outside of downtown Charleston. A quiet, natural retreat for walking, biking or just relaxing with a good book. Ask for a room on the top floor, as we heard the person above us walking around on their wood floor. We weren't impressed with the rooms at all, especially for the price.
