Just outside Charleston across the Ashley River, this contemporary 55-room inn, part of the historic Middleton Place Plantation and Gardens begun in 1741, is a secluded woodland hideaway that offers luxury and comfort. Awarded for its architectural design that blends into the area’s natural setting, the inn features four separate buildings with great views of the river and marshlands. Middleton Place is just a foot path away along the river. The inn is a perfect place for a special event, wedding or business function with time for leisurely pursuits.

A stay here is both an educational experience and an escape from hectic schedules. As part of Middleton Place which had a thriving industry as a rice plantation, now a National Historic Landmark, guests can follow the winding paths of the beautifully landscaped gardens, take a stroll by the river, tour the historic buildings and stables and enjoy excellent Southern cuisine at the Middleton Place Restaurant open for lunch and dinner. Middleton Inn Accommodations

Comfortable accommodations feature wood-burning fireplaces, handcrafted furnishings, floor to ceiling windows, wood floors, TV, and coffee/tea makers. Large private baths are stocked with natural soaps. Upon arrival guests will receive a welcome gift basket.

Amenities offered

A nature lover's delight, guests will enjoy a day of discovery on one of the walking, kayaking and biking tours offered. A 3,000 square-foot Lake House Conference Center with business services and audio-visual equipment is available along with adjacent dining facilities. The day begins with a full American style breakfast. Admission to Middleton Place is also included. In the evening, guests can mingle at the manager’s reception with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. On a warm day, the outdoor pool offers a place to relax after a day of exploration.

From the Charleston International Airport:
Take I-526 West (toward Savannah).
Take the Ashley River Road North Exit (#11) which exits onto the Paul Cantrell Parkway.
Then it turns into the McConnell Parkway.
Follow McConnell Parkway north to Bees Ferry Road.
Turn right onto Bees Ferry Road until it ends at Hwy. 61 (Ashley River Road).
Turn left onto Ashley River Road.
The Inn at Middleton Place is approximately 6 miles north on the right side of the road. (1/2 mile before Middleton Place).
