Customer Reviews for Hampton Inn Charleston-Historic District

Hampton Inn Was GREAT! - posted on 05/02/2006

I highly recommend this hotel. It has a great breakfast and the rooms are clean. It is walking distance to downtown.

Well-pleased - posted on 01/04/2007

Location is great, across from the visitor center and trolley stop for all routes. Get the DASH pass and explore all you want. Parking, however, was not free, but $12/night at the adjacent garage.

SUB-PAR FOR HAMPTON INN - posted on 06/21/2006

Overall, everything was just average at best. Rooms and bathrooms need a facelift. Carpet really needs cleaning (smells odd). New beds were very comfy and linens were clean. Visited several other inns and hotels while in town. Better value to be found elsewhere if you look. Summary: Not as good as other Hamptons I've stayed at; could be improved by revamping rooms and offering more for what you pay. More bang for your buck can be found at other hotels and inns in the Historic District.

Disappointed - posted on 04/16/2006

We booked based on the other reviews - particularly "spacious rooms" comments. We must have gotten the only small room in the building as even with limited furniture there was NO room to move around or hide suitcases. Not good for extended stay.

I enjoyed my stay here very much. The hotel was very clean and everyone were nice and worked very effeciently. I would most definitely stay here again and also recommend this hotel to anyone.

Wonderful Staff - posted on 07/28/2005

We chose this Hampton Inn because of the excellent location (right across the street from the Visitor's Center). The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The bell hop went out of his way to make sure my 6 year old nephew felt welcome and surprised my nephew with a handful of popcicles on a hot afternoon. The room was large, clean and nicely decorated. The buses and trolleys stop right in front of the hotel to take visitiors to the heart of the historic section of town. We will stay again when we return to Charleston!

Charleston's Best Kept Hotel Secret - posted on 07/19/2005

Stayed 4 nights here after 1 night at Doubletree @ The Market. Rooms and service exceeded the Doubletree at half the price -- bigger rooms with lots of light, and one of the friendliest & most professional hotel staffs I've ever seen. I spend 100+ nights/yr in hotels for business and this was truly one of the standout gems in all areas

Hampton Rocks! - posted on 12/28/2004

For 3 days at the Hampton Inn, my experience was top class from start to finish. All the staff from manager to wait staff, the accommodations and the full breakfasts all exceeded my expectations in so many ways. More importantly the staff?s attention to details made my stay so much more comfortable by genuine friendly demeanors of everyone whom I spoke with.
