A member of the Hilton Hotel chain, the inviting grand lobby is a step back in time with chandeliers and furnishings reminiscent of 19th century Charleston elegance. Located in a quiet and historic part of the city, guests can enjoy a lovely and intimate garden courtyard. There is no restaurant on the premises; however, the hotel’s Lighthouse Café offers a choice of a full Southern buffet or Continental breakfast. For dinner, Hank’s Seafood Restaurant and Peninsula Grill are next door, a few of the many fine dining choices. It’s easy walking to all shopping and attractions, or city trolley stops.

This is a very nice hotel to stay, in a beautiful and quiet section of downtown Charleston. Breakfast is not included in the tariff and can be expensive (about $25 for two people), but there are plenty of cafés with fresh muffins and coffee right across the street at the Old City Market. Public parking is a little tricky and valet parking is another expensive feature, but this is part of the Charleston experience. Read our customer reviews?

Doubletree Suites Charleston Accommodations

All 182 guest rooms are large and comfortable, featuring a king size bed or two queen beds, private baths with luxury toiletries, premium bedding, coffee/tea maker, cable TV, and hair dryer. Two-room suites are available with an upstairs and downstairs arrangement.

Amenities offered

Satisfactory amenities include concierge desk to help guests with tours or dinner reservations, a multi-lingual staff, safe deposit box, gift shop, laundry, valet service and coin laundry. A few meetings rooms are available with audio/visual equipment, notary and copy service. There is no pool or fitness center; however, most guests stay for the convenience of location and proximity to the historic district.

From Charleston International Airport: Depart Airport and get on I-526 East. Stay in the right lane and merge onto I 26 East. Follow I-26 East to the very end. Take the Downtown Meeting Street Exit (221) and at the end of the exit ramp turn right onto Meeting St. Stay in the left lane and follow Meeting St. about 1.5 miles. Turn left onto Hayne St.(immediately after the Bank of America.) Turn right on Church Street and the hotel is on your right hand side.
