Clean and comfortable - posted on 01/20/2006

Your hotel was clean and the people were great. The room was comfortable and spacious. I always like a room that offers a chair other than the desk chair. The parking was very tight and limited and the construction( which was not your fault ) was a problem. I would use your hotel again.

no water - posted on 06/04/2007

The water pressure was non-existant and there was no hot water the entire weekend. Showers were not possible. Rooms are noisy in that there are large gaps in the entry door that allow you to hear all conversations in hall. Do not stay on the 2nd floor. We were placed directly across from hotel laundry facility on 2nd floor and had to be moved. Do not stay here if you need rest. Room was not cleaned as requested while we were away from the hotel. Staff was very friendly and doing the best they could given the situation with the water.

No riverview! - posted on 10/22/2006

This hotel offers a view of a construction site or a rundown/out of business fast food restuarant. The entrance was very hard to find and the smell in the rooms (sewage) offered a slight discount after complaining but not enough for an enjoyable experience. The carpet was dirty and the bedding was not much better. Parking was in a gravel lot under a bridge (we saw a few homeless people there at night). Would not recommend this hotel.

Bad experiece - posted on 10/22/2006

The manager was at the desk when I entered and met me with a YES. No good afternoon or welcome. I asked for an early check in at 2:40 pm and he informed me check-in was at 3 pm. and no rooms were available and he doubted they would be ready at 3. I finally tried to check in at 3:15 and they still weren't ready. He was very rude and acted as if he didn't care.

not bad for the money - posted on 10/05/2006

I thought it was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. The name of the hotel needs to change, because of the huge high-rise condo going in right in front of the hotel, it's not really "riverview" any longer.

location/location - posted on 09/15/2006

We selected this hotel for its proximity to MUSC, but the street was blocked off and we had difficulty finding an entrace with all the one-way streets. Condos are under construction next door and all the workers were staying here and tracked in all the grime from the construction site even up to the fourth floor. When the condos are finished this hotel will need total renovation. There are only fast-food restaurants close by. Additionally, there is no riverview!

Serviceable but not great - posted on 08/23/2006

The hotel facilities were fine with a few exceptions - the carpeting in the hallways were stained in various spots and the elevators were industrial and cheap looking. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Main issue was that the street was under construction so you looked out on a construction site about 50 feet from your window. The nearby building under construction largely blocked whatever view there may have been of the river, so the hotel may have to change its name. Room was clean and well maintained. For the price, a nice hotel relatively close to downtown.

Was under construction - posted on 06/27/2006

This hotel was under construction during my stay so it may be better now. The staff was awesome and the room was huge but the construction was a bother and the smell was bad.

Disappointed - posted on 11/15/2005

This is the first Choice hotel that was a disaster. They ran out of towels and washclothes. The maid left our door ajar while we were out and my laptop and cameras were in the room. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant, but I would never recommend this hotel.

Nice Hotel - posted on 07/05/2005

We had a very nice stay. I would stay there again. The breakfast was great and had a nice eating area. The pool was closed which was disappointing since we had no notice of this. Kids were disappointed. Otherwise very nice hotel. Friendly!

Close to MUSC - posted on 05/06/2005

I stayed here for six nights while my father was at MUSC, and although it's not the newest or cleanest place, it is VERY close to the hospital (within walking distance), and they give a discount rate if you have a family member in the hospital. I was with my Dad 12 hours every day and only stayed in the hotel at night, so the bare accommodations didn't bother me. The continental b'fast was very good and fresh. Overall, a cheap place to stay if you're in Charleston for reasons other than tourism.

Very Bad Experience - posted on 11/15/2004

Aside from the front desk staff and maintenance men, this hotel is lacking. The carpets are stained, they bed linens torn, the towels threadbare.
