Located on the west side of the Ashley River, guests of this 175-room hotel will enjoy romantic views of Charleston Harbor and the marina. Although located in a quiet, residential area, it’s easy to get onto major highways to downtown Charleston, Folly Beach or Mount Pleasant. The hotel is popular with tour groups and the breakfast room with its excellent buffet tends to get busy, but that just reflects the good lodging value offered to visitors of Charleston. A hidden gem, it’s well worth checking a map to find.

This hotel is above the usual cookie-cutter hotels, especially with its great view of the river and the harbor. It’s easy to drive into downtown Charleston after breakfast and find parking in the historic district. This is a popular inn and breakfast can be crowded—go early. Formerly a Hampton Inn, it’s been some time since it was renovated and the wear is starting to show. Otherwise, it’s a very nice place to stay for the tariff and amenities and proximity to local highways and attractions. Staff is cheerful and helpful. Read our customer reviews?
