Only so-so - posted on 10/29/2005

The worst thing was the smell, covered over ;in my room with floral airspray. Staff was indifferent most of the time. Woould choose someplace else next trip. Room was adequate and okay for the money.

Nice stay - posted on 04/02/2007

I was traveling with my son and stayed here for two nights. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. I felt the hotel was in a safe area and my son and I were able to enjoy our stay. There were plenty of places to eat nearby and it was just a short ride to many Charleston attractions. I would stay here again.

Price is reasonable and you are not too far from downtown Charleston. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet.

Road Warrior Beware - posted on 02/21/2007

This hotel is kind of a dump. Everything is falling apart: door locks/faucets/TV cabinet/drawers, SPARSE amenities-no desk/chair... I could go on.

Not 3 STAR - posted on 11/19/2006

The hotel was very clean and staff was WONDERFUL, but I would not rate it 3 stars as posted. Beds were uncomfortable. Otherwise, all was nice, just not 3 star. Maybe 2 1/2.

Tries hard to please... - posted on 11/13/2006

My booking was for a "standard" room, which meant I could have been given a "smoking" room and I don't smoke. I called the hotel manager and he was kind enough to book me into a non-smoking room. I would probably revisit if "wireless" connection is upgraded.

Great Service - posted on 08/17/2006

The staff is very professional and courteous. Rooms are very nice and the hotel is located close to major roads. It was the ideal location to visit both downtown Charleston and the beach.

looked nice..... - posted on 08/11/2006

The location was convenient and it seemed like a nice place to stay. However, we experienced a problem with large roaches in our room. We contacted the front desk and was offered some 'bug spray'. After a second phone call to the front desk they did come to our room and spray. We were told that his was a 'Charleston problem'. We have stayed in Charleston at least a dozen times and have never encountered roaches before this.

Great experience - posted on 05/11/2006

The entire hotel was clean, the buffet breakfast offered many options for healthy eaters and those with wellness guidelines. Your staff from the front desk to the housekeepers were professional in every way!

The staff at this hotel was amazing. They were so friendly and always willing to help. If you need more towels, they bring them asap. The rooms were pretty nice and always clean.

High & Dry - posted on 04/04/2006

The overall hotel experience was okay, but there wasn't any water for our last night. I tried to get out of the reservation (we stayed a total of three nights) the last night, but the management was unwilling to work with us. After a very long work day it was frustrating to not be able to take a shower & the management didn't try to make any accomodations. I don't think I'd stay there again.

Stay elsewhere - posted on 03/26/2006

Staff was very courteous, however, the hotel rooms and hallways are filthy and smell awful. They did give us a small discount for our bad experience.

Not too good - posted on 01/16/2006

The first room we were given in the hotel had a stopped up toilet, and a broken TV. We were given a different room. The odor of cigarettes was still detectable even though it was a non-smoking room.

Love it - posted on 10/31/2005

The wife and I stayed two nights for our anniversary. It was easy and a quick check in and out. The room was quiet, clean and just a wonderful stay. I would recommend it to anybody that I care for!

A fair deal - posted on 08/22/2005

Rooms were clean and hotel is fairly new. Service was pleasant and quick. When we had problems with the air conditioner, the manager resolved it when we were out to dinner. We would go back.

Great hotel that is not close enough to downtown - posted on 07/12/2005

Very clean and secure -- key card access. Impressed with staff -- very friendly and cordial (from the receptionist to maintenance). One drawback -- driving distance to downtown and Isle of Palms. The continental breakfast was excellent, well-prepared, and comparatively larger, with more selections than the typical coffee and pastries. Reasonable rate for the quality of service. In other words, if the extras in security, staff attitude, and impeccable cleanliness were absent or lacking, then would be over-priced.

Wonderful Experience - posted on 07/06/2005

After checking into the hotel we had booked for months i found it repulsive. The HIE was located across the street so we drove over and explained our situation. THey staff made every effort to get us a room at a discounted price and served us in every way they could. I was very pleased and would stay again. Large rooms, great breakfast

The Good, The Bad, and The Bug-ly - posted on 10/05/2004

This was a nice place overall. The Good: Rates were reasonable, room was ok, breakfast was very good, staff was nice. The Bad: It's a ways to drive into town. The Bug-ly: We had a giant cockroach, or Palmetto Bug, in the room and could not hunt him down. He got away.
