Located only a few miles from downtown Charleston across the Ashley River, this two-story hotel offers 87 comfortably furnished rooms with three guest rooms for physically challenged visitors. The staff is friendly and helpful, and for those ready to explore the city, tour buses stop right outside the front door. Included in the nightly rate is a good Continental breakfast with fresh coffee, waffles, pastries, cereals, fruit and a variety of juices. It’s also easy to access the other major highways, I-26 and I-526 to the airport, North Charleston, Folly Beach or Sullivan’s Island.

With its closeness to the historic district, this is a great place to stay at a very affordable rate. It has a good housekeeping service (fresh linen every day) and staff and the concierge will help with arranging tours to plantations where tour buses come to the hotel. Each of the cheerfully decorated and furnished guest rooms features a king or two queen-size Sealy Pillowtop beds, along with mini-refrigerator, microwave, coffee/tea maker, cable TV, dataports, high-speed Internet access, work desk and chair, voice mail and free local calls. Bathrooms are large and are stocked with toiletries.

This hotel offers a variety of fine amenities including a large outdoor poor, shaded patio with umbrella tables, meeting rooms and business services, a fitness center, complimentary morning newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning and guest Laundromat. Although there is no restaurant on the premises, the morning breakfast buffet has plenty of hot and cold items, and there are many restaurants in the immediate area.
