Excellent Motel - posted on 04/07/2007
Pay no attention to the bad reviews. This was a very nice motel, bed very comfortable, always plenty of fresh coffee in lobby (didn't even need to use in-room coffee maker). Close to Parris Island. Marine gear from Corps Store sold in lobby, a great feature. Would definitely stay again.

Would not choose Sleep Inn again - posted on 08/04/2006
I read reviews before we stayed at this hotel and thought that the negative reviews were wrong since there were so many positive ones - instead, I was wrong! We stayed at the Sleep Inn last week and while the staff was pleasant, the rooms were dirty. Then we took the kids out to use the pool, which the desk staff said was open. We even got towels from them. A man came by and yelled at us that the pool was contaminated and the filter was not working. Gee - it would have been great to know that before I took my 6 and 2 year old in - and the staff knew we were going in. There was a sign on the spa that it was closed, but no sign on the pool and we were told it was open. The room smelled like stale smoke. In the morning, when we went down to breakfast, the maid wanted us to sign something since we put a do not disturb card on the door so we could pack up before she cleaned. We did not sign anything and just checked out. Now, a week later, I have an ear infection and a really bad summer cold. I am blaming the dirty pool. My kids did not get sick, thankfully but one was on antibiotics and one has an awesome immune system. I would only stay at this hotel again if nothing else was available and I was forced to spend the night somewhere. On second thought, spending the night in the car might be better - well, at least it would be cleaner.
NO SLEEP AT SLEEP INN - posted on 07/07/2006
THIS SLEEP INN WAS DIRTY, THE POOL WAS DANGEROUSLY DIRTY, AND THE POOL WAS THE REASON I CHOSE TO STAY THERE. WHEN WE COMPLAINED ON THE FIRST DAY, THE POOL WAS CLOSED THE NEXT DAY.(THE SPA WAS ALREADY CLOSED). WE CHECKED OUT AND LEFT THE 2ND DAY. I BELIEVE WE SHOULD BE REFUNDED FOR THE 2ND DAY. THE RECEIPT FROM SLEEP INN HAD A CREDIT BALANCE BUT NOT FOR THE FULL DAY AND THE PERSON THAT CHECKED US OUT DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DO A CREDIT.
Ok but no pool - posted on 07/05/2006
The hotel was neat and clean. The employees were very kind. Our only complaint was they advertised a swimming pool and the pool was closed. The Comfort Inn offered their pool for use but it was closed for cleaning when we went. Going to the Comfort Inn down the street to swim was too inconvenient.
Disgusting Hotel - posted on 02/27/2006
Rooms were dirty and management was unapologetic. I was charged a different rate than what I was quoted over the phone, but it was too late to find another room. I informed the hotel of the quoted rate and I was informed that I had been quoted an incorrect rate and that it was too late in the day to cancel the reservation since they required a 24 hour notice.
Ideal for Parris Island Visit - posted on 02/13/2006
The hotel was perfect for our visit to our son's Family Day & Graduation from Parris Island. The hotel provided list of resturants, info about the base & activities, maps and other info that was helpful. The staff was pleasant to work with. The breakfast, microwave & refrig were added treats that my family enjoyed.
Close to Parris Island - posted on 01/16/2006
We stayed at the Sleep Inn in Beaufort, SC while attending the graduation of our son from USMC basic training at Parris Island, SC. The Sleep Inn was the perfect choice. The location is perfect, and the staff regularly deals with Parris Island visitors and are well equipped to help. The price was a little high for a Sleep Inn, but I'm sure this is because of being adjacent to P.I., and we found the rooom to be clean, relatively new, and with everything in good working order. Pretty good continental breakfast too!
Terrible Room - posted on 12/03/2005
We had reserved a non-smoking room and it was not available on arrival. My wife has alergies and in addition to the smoke tainted room they gave us, the air system had mold growing inside of it. She had a major alergic reaction and we had to leave the entire hotel. The staff tried to remedy the situation by putting an air purifyer in the room but that had not worked in recent history. Staff was not friendly or sorry for the dirty room.

The choice for the hotels are numerous but no one can beat the comfortable stay for its value.

The room smelled great. The smell made the room clean looking compared to another hotel that I recently stayed in. The price was great for the comfort I was looking for.
Mold - posted on 09/29/2004
the mold in the bathroom shower is not a good thing. a little bleach would clean it up very nicely. We have never been to a town without a place to eat other than fast food. since we don't eat at those places, it was really hard to find a place to eat. Our town should think about that. and open at night for travelers. your hotel was nice and we thank you for the pleasant people that work there. and your help in at check in and out. and getting us the information to get a rental car. Again, thank you, shelley Smith
