The price I bid was worth it. The kitchenette is nicely equipped for in-room meals and the furniture is comfortable. The room was clean. The location is a bit off the beaten path, a plus if you want to be away from traffic; a minus if you prefer walking to sites.

I was very pleased with the hotel, and the staff was the friendliest I have ever encountered. A nice breakfast buffet was included. There was even microwave popcorn in the room.

Great location for Carnegie Mellon/ Pitt stay. Breakfast was great and all amenities, including laundry were adequate. The rooms are excellent and roomy.

Convenience and hospitality were great.

Taken to the ballgame by shuttle, no return ride.

The pet-friendly Residence Inn by Marriott Pittsburgh Oakland is within a mile of the University of Pittsburgh and offers all suites extended stay accommodation equally suited to the business traveler or families on vacation. The nine-story, non-smoking hotel has 174 one and two bedroom suites all with fully equipped kitchens and separate sleeping and living areas. Items included in the room rate are high-speed Internet access, a hot breakfast buffet, midweek evening socials, local telephone calls, and coffee, and other hot drinks, available in the lobby 24/7. The inn is close to the Carnegie Mellon University, UPMC Medical Center, Shadyside Hospital, Hillman Cancer Center, Software Engineering Institute, Mellon Institute, Cathedral of Learning and Petersen Event Center. There is 1,600 square-feet of meeting space available for business and social functions.

Former visitors to this Residence Inn say it is in a great location, close to the University of Pittsburgh, the prices are reasonable and the suites are spacious, clean and comfortable. Many clients enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet, the midweek social gatherings, and coffee, cookies and hot chocolate that was always available in the lobby. The employees were commended for their cheerful and friendly help and most clients say they will return to this inn on future visits to Pittsburgh.
