The pet-friendly Residence Inn by Marriott Pittsburgh Airport has 156 suites ideally suited to the extended stay business traveler or families on vacation. The three-story, non-smoking hotel is located in the RIDC Park West, five miles from Greater Pittsburgh International Airport and 12 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. RIDC Park is home to numerous corporations including Thermo Fisher Scientific, Bayer, Lanxess, Cigna, Computer Associates and Dick's Sporting Goods. The inn operates a complimentary shuttle to the airport and nearby offices. Other items included in the room rate are high-speed Internet access, a hot breakfast buffet, midweek evening socials, local telephone calls, a morning newspaper, parking and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The inn is one mile from The Mall at Robinson, Robinson Towne Center and The Pointe at North Fayette which have 200 shops, restaurants and entertainment venues.

Families who stayed in the two bedroom suites said they offered great value for money and the inn was a great base for touring the area. Business clients said the location was good, near several important corporate offices, and the prices were much lower than similar accommodation in downtown Pittsburgh. There were good reviews about helpful and efficient employees and the extensive breakfast buffet. All the suites have a fireplace and a kitchen with conventional oven and microwave oven, stovetop, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and a full set of cutlery and crockery. Other amenities include a work desk with high-speed Internet access, two-line telephone in each room, pullout sofa bed, television with cable news and movie channels, pay-per-view movies, hairdryer and an iron and ironing board.

This inn has an outdoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool, fitness center and a sports court. The property offers a grocery shopping service and has a list of restaurants that will deliver to the inn. The complimentary breakfast and midweek light dinners are the only meals served here. Places to eat nearby include a Cracker Barrel, Golden Corral, McDonalds, Lonestar Steakhouse and an Olive Garden. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area attractions and events. From Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) 5 miles: Take Route 60 south towards Pittsburgh to the Montour Run Road exit (#2). Turn right at the traffic light, onto Cliffmine Road. Stay straight through next traffic light, then at the following traffic light make a left turn onto Summit Park Drive. Make next left turn onto Park Lane Drive, and the hotel is on the left.
