Only the location is worth it - posted on 05/28/2007
I booked here for location, advertised amenities and wireless. I got location, and the room was excellent. But the fitness center is $10 per day, even to use the treadmill or pool, the sauna was broken and there were no towels. Wireless is only available in the lobby, and internet from the room cost $10.95. Parking in the garage is $34 per day, the same as for non-guests. When I checked out, the valet brought me the wrong car. This hotel is for people who must stay in center city and don't care how much they spend.
very cool modern hotel - posted on 04/23/2007
The hotel architecture and design is quite stunning. I really enjoyed the experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location is walking distance from major attractions. I noticed some very well-behaved pets so I'm guessing that's okay. The ground floor isn't as friendly as it could be and that's only because it's mostly taken up by a very trendy bar and restaurant. The entry experience is a little underwhelming. Those are minor points--mostly the hotel was great.
Very Impressed - posted on 02/27/2007
We have stayed at many five star hotels, so our expectations are very high. Although the stay was not perfect, we were treated very well, and the staff was always accommodating. The rooms were not the nicest we have ever stayed in, but they were far above "decent". We traveled with and infant and three Chihuahuas, and still managed to have a great time! Even though the room service was overpriced, there were plenty of places to eat right across the street. We would definitely stay at this hotel again, and are even looking into other Lowes Brand Hotels.
Great Service but lacking in others - posted on 02/25/2007
The staff was professional except for in the gift shop where you get stared at like a shoplifter. The beds were not comfortable. Excellent masseuse, nice spa facility. Steam room light covers are rusted. Pipes above the swimming pool are filthy. Shower liner in our room had black gunk on it. Nickel and dimed everywhere from the restaurant with $5 grapefruit, to the $10 per day charge to the gym, to the $11 charge for internet connection in your room to $32 dollars a day for parking. I would recommend the lesser known Hampton Inn for the Sleep 9 beds.
Loews is Great - posted on 01/12/2007
The hotel was in the midst of a renovation, but with minimal impact on guests. Rooms are large, light and comfortable. Toilet roll dispenser in our "17" room was badly placed; drapes were hard to draw due to desk placement. Staff was uniformly helpful and friendly, especially re our terrier who has cancer and enjoyed the attention. Location in Center City is great.

We had a great weekend at the Loews. The location is perfect - the rooms are comfortable, the views are excellent - the service second-to-none. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
Great weekend getaway! - posted on 07/05/2006
While the beds could be more comfortable and the rooms are somewhat sparsely appointed, this hotel was an excellent weekend stay. So much was within walking distance; the "Taste of Philadelphia" festival, the trains, the Greyhound station to Atlantic City, etc. Also, the conceirge suggested and reserved dinner at the excellent Barkley Prime. All in all, very satisfied with our stay!
great time in philly! - posted on 08/24/2005
we were welcome by the staff...they give u a mini tour and aquaint you with the hotel, history, and room right when u check in. the rooms were not very large, but it is in a city so space is scarce..the hotel is huge!...the hotel is the PERFECT distance from THE GALLERY MALL!!! it was like a 5min walk.....dont be afriad to take a taxi around though! taxi prices are low in philly from the train station it was $5 for 3ppl. If your room is on club level then u get a great view and free continental breakfast....with great food! i'm definitly visiting again!

Best view in Philly! Request a high floor and you get a great view of City Hall and a look at the Art Museum. Super friendly service, Large rooms.
Not bad, not great - posted on 10/26/2004
This hotel's most attractive features are its Belgian black marble and the decor of the restaurant (Sole Food). The rooms are nice, but they don't match the modern style of the public spaces. The hotel charges $10/day for use of a mediocre gym and a small pool--not cool! The hotel staff doesn't do much to make you feel welcome. However, the hotel is well-maintained and in a central location in downtown Philly.

Extremely good value if you get the bargain rate! The rooms are spacious, clean, and very nice. Get a room high up: the views are incredible, even from the bathroom windows. Although there was a mixup in my billing, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I was extremely impressed.
