It was OK and met our needs for a place close to our relatives. It was clean for the most part. The lighting in the bathroom was to cool in color. A warmer light would have been better. There were guests in the room next to us that were fighting most of the night. The hotel staff did respond when we reported it.

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

We always ask for a non-smoking room and there was an unpleasant smoke odor in the room.

The pet-friendly Comfort Inn Capital City is located in Mechanicsburg a short drive from the Hersheypark family amusement park. Items included with the room rate at this 64-room, four-story hotel are a hot breakfast buffet with a waffle station, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, a copy of USA Today, in-room coffee and parking. There is one meeting room available for business or social functions. The property is located off Route 15 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, six miles from Harrisburg. Area landmarks and attractions include the Lancaster Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch countries, the town of Hershey, Gettysburg National Military Park, Ski Roundtop, the State Museum of Pennsylvania, Hershey's Chocolate World theme park, Zoo America Wildlife Park, the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts and the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course.

Frequent visitors to Mechanicsburg rate this Comfort Inn as the best place to stay in town. The rooms have been renovated, all have flat screen televisions, and they are spacious and spotlessly clean. Many travelers who delighted with the friendly and helpful service they received from the front desk which was much better than they had received at similar properties. First-time visitors say this will be their hotel of choice on future visits to the area and they had no hesitation in recommending this inn to others.
