Lancaster has a rich history and fantastic reputation for lending out a helping hand. Don’t be too surprised when you see a horse and buggy pull up beside you. The Amish have called this area home for many years and provide you with amazing home cooked meals and handmade crafts. The food is so good that you’ll want to take some home with you. The Bethel A.M.E Church was one of the stations along the Underground Railroad. This historic church still stands today and is a fantastic reminder to what standing for your convictions can accomplish.
The arts community thrives here as well. With over 20 galleries and museums you’ll enjoy wandering through them and learning about the artists. The Fulton Opera House is a stunning venue that is one of the oldest in the nation. If you get a chance to listen to a performance, definitely make the effort to go. For those traveling with the little ones, a trip to Dutch Wonderland is a must. This great amusement park has over 30 rides and even has its own mascot, Duke the Dragon.
