Pennsylvania State Guide

Playing an important role in America’s independence, Pennsylvania is chocked full of history. If you’re interested in the past, this is a fantastic place to explore. However, Pennsylvania can provide you with more. You’ll find world-class museums, great theater performances, and fascinating architecture. There’s even a city named after chocolate here. As the home state for Andrew Carnegie, who was one of the richest men in the world, and Andy Warhol, an influential American artist, you know Pennsylvania has a lot to offer.

Spending time at a Pennsylvania museum is a real treat. The Philadelphia Art Museum is one of the largest in the country and has over 300,000 items on display. Found on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway you’ll also be close to the Rodin Museum and the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul. Andrew Carnegie’s philanthropic legacy continues to leave an impression in Pennsylvania. The Carnegie Museum of Art is one of the first museums of modern art, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History has a fantastic dinosaur collection and the Carnegie Science Center is a popular tourist venue due to its impressive exhibits and displays. History buffs flock to Independence Hall and you too can see where the Declaration of Independence was signed and where the nation’s history began. The Fort Pitt Museum is another great place to learn about American history. Pennsylvania’s countryside has many beautiful parks. If you only have time for one though make your way to Hershey Gardens. The gardens, thousands of roses and butterfly exhibit are a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors.

If you’re looking for a bit more action Pennsylvania has got you covered. Hersheypark is visited by thousands of people every year for some very good reasons. There are fantastic rides, great restaurants and of course, a lot of chocolate for you to indulge on. Zooamerica is a great place to learn about the many fascinating creatures that call it home. Make your way to Idlewild Park where you could stroll through Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, enjoy a tale in the Storybook forest or get tuckered out at the Jumpin’ Jungle. With rides like Thunderbolt, Phantom’s Revenge and the Exterminator, you know Kennywood is a great place to let out a few screams. Sandcastle Water Park is the spot to cool off. Home to the Bermuda Triangle, Cliffhangers and Thunder Run there’s not a hope of you getting out of here dry.

Although Pennsylvania is a state filled with modern luxuries you shouldn’t be too surprised to see a horse and buggy pull up beside you. The Amish have made this state their home as well and thus, you’ll be treated to some of the best home cooking you’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying. However, if you’re going to be in Pennsylvania you’ll need to make room for its famous Philly cheesesteak. There are places all over the state that claim to have the very best one. Half the fun is testing to see if their claims are true.

Pennsylvania provides you with ample opportunities to learn about America’s history, enjoy its beautiful architecture, walk along the riverbanks and feast on delicious food. Sounds pretty good to me.
