Customer Reviews for Jupiter Hotel Portland

Out of this world - posted on 11/29/2006

The Jupiter has the elements of a trendy place but is big on service and friendliness. The staff is knowledgable about the area and will not hesitate to have a friendly conversation. The rooms are modern and clean and the private parking garage is a huge plus. The Doug Fir Lounge is a great place to unwind and eat or listen to music - like a modern log cabin. The next time I'm in Portland, this is the place for me.

Sweet Jupiter - posted on 10/12/2006

The Jupiter Hotel provided a fun and exciting stay in Portland, OR. The rooms are decorated in a modern and clean fashion. In addition to the friendly staff, there were a plethura of shows and art shows right there on the premises. Also on the premises is the Doug Fir Lounge which provided good food and a nice environment up until 4:00am. It is situated centrally between Downtown and Hawthorne, making both easy to get to by foot/city transit. Transportation was in good proximaty to the hotel and I had no trouble getting there via The Max from the airport.

Funky in Portland - posted on 06/26/2006

As long as you're not looking for plush, and don't mind alot of night 'hip' activity outside your door, this little boutique spot is OK. Staff is friendly. Definitely not for the ones looking for plush, fancy or quiet. Consistant with the price I believe, I would stay here again.

awful - posted on 06/17/2006

he "hippest" thing about them is that they are furnished with the cheapest things on offer at IKEA. The carpet in our room is brown, and is also of the indoor/outdoor variety. The tile in the bathroom is surface clean, but the grout has not been scrubbed in at least a year.

Great, lively place to stay. - posted on 04/12/2006

Yes sleeping next to a club with hipsters hanging out in the court yard means it's going to be a bit noisy, but the rooms are equipped with speakers for iPods, etc, ear plugs and simply turning on the AC/Fan drowns out the noise. Great room, price, location and front desk.

leave your shoes on - posted on 03/08/2006

We stayed here one night only. The bathroom obviously had not been cleaned., hair on the floor, and in the shower. Bed appeared to be clean and comfortable, but very low. Office personnel was very helpful and polite. Quite a walk to lite rail, or Rose, but bus is only 4-5 blocks. Would not stay again.

not exactly like the website - posted on 02/02/2006

After checking out the jupiter hotel's website, we were excited to stay in a fun, different hotel. What we found was quite different; it was not really kept up. It was pretty moldy and our room floor was wet. Decor was fun and modern, though. Not a place we'd stay in again.

hipster hotel - posted on 01/11/2006

ok so upon arrival we were informed that the jupiter was THE hipster hotel in town, normally chock full of drunken post nightclub portland hipsters. sadly this wasn't totally the case. the room was on the small size but was tastefully decorated like an ikea showroom. the bed was surprisingly exceptionally comfortable--though the walls were a bit thin and we could most certainly hear the couple in the next room

I really enjoyed my stay at the Jupiter Hotel, it has a very modern feel, at a reasonable price. It's the W meets chic Motel. If your looking for something different, this is a fun place to stay in Portland. The Doug Fir restaraunt was a great place to eat, drink or just hang out after a long day.

excellent value - posted on 10/16/2005

Although the noise level from the outside music and nightclub attendees was a concern, the room was surprisingly quiet, thanks to the hum of the wall air-conditioner/heater. The beds were extremely comfortable, the room attractive. We'd happily stay there again.

rooms a little small - posted on 09/24/2005

Fun place, convenient but rooms are very small & beds are very low to the floor. Our "lg." single queen rm. made me wonder what a small single queen could possibly be. Having the restaurant, bar & courtyard were fantastic features.

Great retro feel - posted on 06/23/2005

The rooms are furnished in a simple retro style. The staff are both friendly and helpful when it comes to suggestions about what to do and see in the city. Located a couple of blocks from the Burnside bridge, it only took me minutes to walk across the river and end up right in downtown. Overall it was a great experience.

not quite - posted on 10/14/2004

The hotel looks like a renovated motel. The location is sub-optimal. The hotel website is misleading. Overall this facility needs work.

Portland's Hippest Hotel - posted on 10/12/2004

We stayed at this new boutique hotel in Portland, a very cool hotel, funky modern rooms, a fab rest and club, a young and inviting staff, we loved it..
