The 258 all-suites Marriott Residence Inn Portland Downtown River Place provides extended stay accommodation equally suited to the business traveler or families on vacation. The nine-story, pet friendly hotel is within walking distance of downtown Portland and the Portland Streetcar line. Items included with the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet, high-speed Internet access, a manager’s reception on midweek evenings, local telephone calls, a morning newspaper and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The non-smoking inn has five rooms for social or business meetings. The largest can accommodate 180 guests. Area landmarks and attractions include the Oregon Convention Center, the Portland Saturday Market, the Columbia River Gorge, Washington Park, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Keller Auditorium, Oregon Zoo, Pioneer Place Shopping Center and Portland International Raceway.

All the suites have a kitchen with conventional oven and microwave oven, stovetop, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and a full set of cutlery and crockery. There is a work desk with high-speed Internet access, two-line telephone with voicemail and speakerphone, pullout sofa bed, cable television with news and movie channels, pay-per-view movies, hairdryer and an iron and ironing board. There are 20 two-bedroom suites designed for families.

From Portland Airport (PDX) 10 miles: Take Airport Way and follow signs to I-205 South. Follow I-205 S to Exit 21B, I-84 W to Portland. Follow signs to I-5 S, cross over Marquam Bridge following signs to City Center/Beaverton (the two left lanes). Take the first exit 1B for 4th Avenue. Turn right on Harrison Street. Follow Harrison until it turns into SW River Parkway. The hotel is on your right side at the end of River Parkway.
