Great location for fireworks! - posted on 07/09/2006
Stayed here due to 4th of July fireworks being right outside the door (on the river). Easy to get around town - never needed the car due to proximity to downtown, tram & trolley service, etc. Room was VERY small (AAA rate?), but nicely decorated & beds were very good. Bkfst was good but expensive -- pretty typical for hotels. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed here when while we attended a show at the Keller Auditorium. It's closeness was really key. It was also really accessible to the trolley that runs through the Pearl District to the NW 23rd area. We parked our car once and went all over without a problem or a cab. Rooms were neat and clean.

The room was great and the air conditioner worked great(temp in the 90's). It was very quiet and peaceful. We only ate one meal, breakfast, in the restaurant, but it was very ordinary. It needs jazzing up.
We'll definitely be back! - posted on 05/09/2005
Our expectations were exceeded above and beyond. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and our stay couldn't have been better! We had a wedding to attend while we were there and the gift shop attendant was so nice as to wrap the present for us at no charge. We called the hotel while we were out and asked for directions to gas stations, restaurants, etc. and they were very helpful. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be back to the Marriott.
Don't Stay Near The Elevators - posted on 10/01/2004
I've stayed here in the past. Great location across the street from Portland's riverfront park; try to get a riverview room. Check the location of your room before going upstairs. Several rooms on each floor are across from the elevators. The constant dinging from arriving elevators 24/7 will drive you nuts. There are better hotels downtown, but none with a nicer location. The Marriott staff is mostly cordial & friendly.
