The 496-room Marriott Portland Downtown Waterfront provides luxury accommodation suited to both the upmarket business and leisure traveler. The 16-story, non-smoking hotel has 25,000 square-feet of meeting space. The largest of the 19 meeting rooms, the Exhibit Hall, can accommodate 2,000 guests. The full-service hotel, which underwent an $8.5 million improvement project, is close to the shops and restaurants at the Riverside Marina. Other attractions and landmarks include six golf courses, Mount Hood, the Portland Saturday Market, the Columbia River Gorge, Washington Park, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Keller Auditorium, Oregon Zoo, Pioneer Place Shopping Center and Portland International Raceway.

Many travelers say this is the best place to stay in Portland. Clients adored this hotel before the $8.5 million room improvement project – and they like it even more now. The employees get top marks for handling problems with efficiency and a smile. There were complaints about the high cost of parking. Several clients said they left their cars on the streets outside where parking is free from 7pm until 8am. Some were lucky enough to get rooms with a view of their vehicles. All the guestrooms, and six suites, have a work desk with high-speed Internet access, 32-inch LCD television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, pullout sofa bed, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, bathrobes and two-line telephone with voicemail.

From Portland Airport (PDX) 9 miles: Take Airport Way East to I-205 South. Then take I-84 West to the City Center (City Center/Oregon City) exit. Continue to follow signs to City Center. Cross Morrison Bridge, take the Naito Parkway Exit, and turn right. Hotel is one half mile on the right. From Northbound I-5: Take City Center/Naito Parkway Exit. Go through two stoplights. The hotel is directly on the right.
