You might be surprised with everything Oregon has to offer. Giving you great skiing and an oceanfront vacation, delicious seafood and homegrown wines, a beautiful waterfall and historic lighthouses, it truly has something everyone will enjoy. Perhaps you’ll spend your time wandering the beaches or testing your skills on the mogul runs. Perhaps you’ll go shopping or enjoy the world renowned Shakespeare Festival. However you keep busy, Oregon is definitely worth exploring.
As the oldest art museum in the Pacific Northwest, the Portland Art Museum spreads over 240,000 square feet and holds over 32,000 works of art. The exhibits are all worth visiting, just make sure you wear good walking shoes. Another interesting site is the Oregon Coast Aquarium. It offers far more than looking at all the fishies though. The many exhibits and displays bring you up close and personal with the inhabitants.
Living up to its reputation for being clean and green you’ll find miles of great biking paths and walking trails. Forest Park, Lithia Park and Three Sisters Wilderness are a few of the best places to get in a little exercise. Multnomah Falls stands at an impressive 600 feet, making it one of the nations highest. Although it’s beautiful anytime of year, seeing it freeze during the winter months is a fantastic site to see. When that snow does fall though, you’ll want to head over to Mount Hood Glacier and join the other skiers perfecting their slalom. A favorite fishing hole for both locals and tourists, anglers love Cascade Lakes. The discovery of the Yaquina Bay oysters though helped put Oregon on the map. Finding delicious seafood restaurants in Oregon should come as no surprise. Even if you’re not a huge seafood lover, try to taste at least a few of the local dishes.
It seems whatever your interests and however you enjoy spending time on your vacation, Oregon is filled with interesting sites, natural beauty and fantastic restaurants. What more could you ask for?
