The 89 all-suites Comfort Suites Sandusky is located near the Firelands Winery and provides affordable accommodation for both the business and pleasure traveler. The non-smoking hotel is five miles from the Cedar Point amusement park. Items included with the room rate are a deluxe continental breakfast, high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, a newspaper on weekday mornings and parking. There are two meeting rooms available for business or social functions that can accommodate 200 guests. Area landmarks and attractions include five golf courses, the Kalahari Resort with its indoor water park, the ferry to Lake Erie Islands, Sandusky Speedway, the African Safari Wildlife Park, the Merry Go Round Museum, Thomas Edison’s birthplace and museum and shopping at the Sandusky Mall.

This hotel just scrapes in with a YES rating. Several clients were disappointed with their stay here. Some complained that their suites did not have microwave ovens and refrigerators. More fortunate guests said the hotel was adequate for the price and the front office staff was very helpful and friendly. Hopefully this property will soon be renovated and the YES rating will remain. Those who stayed in neighboring properties on earlier visits to Sandusky said this was probably the best of the bunch – but not by much. All the suites have high-speed Internet access, television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, a refrigerator, microwave oven, in-room safe, DVD player, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and multi-line telephone with voicemail. Two-bedroom suites, whirlpool suites and handicap accessible rooms are available.

The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and the on-site Baci Restaurant and Baci Night Club are open from 5pm until 2am. Restaurants nearby include an Applebees, Texas Roadhouse and a Red Lobster. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include copy and fax machines available for guest use, laundry and dry cleaning services, daily housekeeping and ice and vending machines.
