The newly renovated 375-room Crowne Plaza Hotel Downtown is attached to Nationwide Insurance and the Columbus Convention Center and provides top quality accommodation for the upmarket business and leisure traveler. Items included with the room rate at this 12-story, non-smoking hotel are in-room tea and coffee, local telephone calls and a morning newspaper. There are 12 meeting rooms available for business or social functions. The largest can accommodate 300 guests. The hotel is within walking distance of the North Market and the trendy Short North neighborhood, all packed with unusual shopping, dining and nightlife. The Nationwide Arena, home of the Columbus Blue Jackets, is two blocks away. Other landmarks and attractions include live music or Broadway shows at the Palace or Ohio Theaters, live concerts at the LC Pavilion, the Museum of Art, the COSI hands-on science center, the historic German Village and Ohio State University.

This is a wonderful Crowne Plaza with all the luxury trimmings you would expect – plus the benefits of some special low rates. Several couples said the attractive weekend rates enabled some affordable getaways particularly if you traveled without your car to avoid the cost of parking. Most visitors to the Columbus hotel appreciated the top notch service from a professional team of employees who had most of the answers about the best places to shop and dine. Crowne Plaza Hotel Downtown Accommodations

All the guestrooms and four suites have a work desk with high-speed Internet access, cordless two-line telephone with voicemail, coffeemaker, refrigerator, television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies and a hairdryer. The suites have a microwave oven, refrigerator with an icemaker, separate sitting room and bathrobes. Connecting rooms are available.

There are two restaurants located in the hotel complex – Max and Erma’s and Morton’s of Chicago – and room service is available from 6.30an until midnight. There is an indoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool and a modern fitness center. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions.
