This pet-friendly hotel is no longer a Marriott property. It is now the Hawthorn Suites Columbus North and provides budget-priced extended stay accommodation for both the business and leisure traveler. The hotel comprises 70 suites all with complete kitchen and separate living and sleeping areas. Items included with the room rate are high-speed Internet access, a hot breakfast buffet, a midweek evening social hour, local telephone calls, parking and a copy of USA Today. The property is to adjacent to the Continent and French Market and a short drive from Magic Mountain, the Ohio State Fairgrounds, the Columbus Zoo and Ohio State University.

This extended-stay hotel gets its YES rating for two reasons: First is the attractive rates and second it is the excellent service provided by a team of efficient and professional employees. The hotel itself is looking very tired, according to many former clients, and is need of a refurbishment. All the suites have a kitchen with conventional oven and microwave oven, stovetop, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and a full set of cutlery and crockery. There is a work desk with high-speed Internet access, telephone with voicemail, pullout sofa bed, cable television with news and movie channels, pay-per-view movies, hairdryer and an iron and ironing board. Some suites have the added benefit of a fireplace.

The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, basketball court and picnic table in the courtyard with a barbecue grill. The complimentary breakfast is the only meal served here but there is a convenience store in the lobby and the hotel offers a grocery shopping service. There are numerous places to eat nearby including a McDonalds, Red Lobster, Olive Garden and Skyline Chilli. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on are events and attractions. Other amenities include an on-site laundry, valet-dry cleaning and fax and copying services.
