What Happened?!? - posted on 03/12/2007

Shocked that Hyatt room was horrible! Room was prepaid, no cancel avail. horrible mildew, old and hard mattress, hair all over and in bedding. Burns in bedding. No duvet cover, flast sheets used. valet lost car 3x! staff very professiona and apologetic.seems as if managers were on vacation! worse than 1 star in room, superior common areas. nice potential, terrible stay. good luck and never pay more than 70.00

wonderful update - posted on 09/11/2006

Hyatt did a great job of building a modern hotel within an 1890 structure. The rooms are nice and the whole place feels well thought-out.

Good times, bad times - posted on 09/07/2006

We've stayed here several times and usually been satisfied. This time the hotel was full, the king bed we thought we reserved not available, and a party in the arcade that ran late. Nice place for a party but not so nice for the uninvited guests. Management might want to rethink that, and deliver what they promise.

An Arcade Like No Other - posted on 08/08/2006

You probably won't find a more attractive hotel in DT Cleveland with such historic decor. It's simply beautiful. The staff was friendly and the location ideal. The same, however, cannot be said of some of the town's natives, many of whom seemed content just hanging around the area with nothing else to do. And be warned: the beggars are aggressive and sometimes belligerent if you ignore them.

Hyatt Cleveland Rocks - posted on 02/24/2006

Awesome architecture and great adaptive reuse of a historic building. This was our first time to Cleveland and we had a wonderful time (not sure where all the jokes about Cleveland come from.) The hotel location was excellent-- in the heart of downtown. Staff was very helpful in making sure our stay was perfect in every way.

We've stayed here before and liked it a lot. House of Blues on Euclid Ave side is new and the crowd outside made the first night a nightmare. We asked for a room change and got it but the next night was quiet. Something to think about.

Affordable Elegance in Historical Landmark - posted on 12/14/2005

This hotel is gorgeous and unique. The Arcade used to be an indoor multi-story mall, so the rooms from the 3rd floor up open to "hallways" that look out over the central "mall" area. The architecture is gorgeous, and with evergreen swags on every railing the atmosphere for Christmas is lovely. The rooms are decorated in "retro" colors and styles, and are very spacious and clean. The staff is very professional and courteous. There was even a Sunday paper outside our room the next morning! We loved staying here.

Victorian Confection - posted on 10/07/2005

A gorgeous Victorian Arcade from the 1890's that has been beautifully restored--hotel rooms on the upper floors and shops on the lower levels. Looks like something one would find in London, not Cleveland. Rooms are all different layouts given the adaptive re-use; most have high ceilings and rather roomy. Staff is helpful and friendly--and there really is much to see here beyond the Rock Hall. Location is splendid in the heart of a revitalized Downtown Cleveland--with some new restaurants and clubs nearby on East Fourth St. that were not present at our previous visit.

Nice place to visit but... - posted on 09/22/2005

The hotel itself is lovely and the rooms spacious and fairly comfortable. We asked for a view and were put on the 3rd floor overlooking the Arcade. This was pleasant until the next day when a wedding took over the Arcade, and the band prevented us from hearing our own television. We complained and were comped a meal at the 1890 restaurant. At the restaurant, however, servers were not very helpful and not very friendly. We wanted to shop but the Arcade was closed (due to the wedding) and the Commons closed at 5:00 on Saturday!! House of Blues was great...we went twice.

Great Architecture - posted on 09/03/2005

The hotel features fabulous architecture from 1890. However, the room we were given was rather noisy since we right next to a maintenence closet and were bombarded with the loud buzz of a generator. Given the price, this was rather annoying. Another drawback is that the hotel itself can be hard to find at night. All in all it was an enjoyable stay.

Excellent historical beauty right in Downtown Cleveland. Restored interior arcade w/ shopping and restaurants. Walking distance to all downtown attractions. I would highly recommend this hotel over any in Cleveland.

Loud water pipes - posted on 06/27/2005

My only complaint was the level of sound coming from the water pipes everytime someone showered. I thought it would just be from our next door neigbhors but it went on much of the night and started up again early in the morning. I don't know if our room was particularily prone to that problem or if all the rooms were that way.

WELL DONE! - posted on 05/06/2005

Walk to Jacobs Field, Tower city, Gund Arena, Rock and Roll hall of fame. Great restaurant and fitness center. Across the street from House of Blues and other entertainment in the evening. Great room with new Hyatt beds.

Wonderful People - posted on 11/10/2004

The room was wonderful, large windows & spacious for an urban area hotel. The staff from the Valet on the way in to the Doorman on the way out went out of their way to make our stay fantastic.

Beautiful Experience - posted on 10/25/2004

The rooms are awesome first of all! Great amenities, extremely clean, the workout room is great, the view from the huge windows is spectacular. Only complaint: The staff is generally dull and unexcited about their job. Other than that though, I loved the place and anticipate coming back soon.
