The hotel is very nice. The rooms are about average size with above average decor. Valet parking is quite pricey. Great experience overall.

Booked this place for a business aquitance that was in town. The place is a dump. Constantly being hit up by panhandlers in the area. Empty boarded up buildings all around. Burn holes in the bed. Only nice thing in the area is the threater district 2 blocks east.
Smokin!! - posted on 02/22/2007
When you have a designated "Smoking" room, you better be a smoker! The second I got off the elevator I could smell smoke. My room, while being nicely done, smelled strongly of smoke. This hotel must have Ventilation per floor as opposed to most that have it per room. If you don't smoke, require them to give you a non-smoking room!

Be aware, $20 valet fee. Next, most hotels have individual ventilation systems per room. This hotel has "smoking floors". The second I stepped off the elevator I could smell cig. smoke. The smoke in the room was strong enough to make my throat hurt. MAKE SURE YOU SPECIFY YOU WANT A NO-SMOKING ROOM!
We had a blast and such a comforting stay. . . . - posted on 04/11/2006
Bed was cozy, maybe a bit springy. Front desk was helpful. Valet was expensive, but worth it. *Tip well to get better service. For excellent food and service, try Flannery's Pub. (Get the chicken and Triple Chocolate Surprise for dessert.) Also, Pickwick's was an excellent restaurant. (Get the cheese pizza and smore for dessert.) The lounge in Wyndham was a good place to get a strong drink after an evening of fun. Room didn't match online descriptions, but decent for price we paid. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone I knew travelling to downtown Cleveland.
Good stay downtown - posted on 12/30/2005
We had a wonderful stay at the Wyndham. Staff was polite and friendly and even called to make sure everything was to our liking after we had settled in. Rooms were clean and decorated nicely. My only complaint would have to be that your only option for parking is valet which is 22 dollars to park overnight. I would imagine if you are staying for more than a few nights that would get pricey. Overall however, we had an excellent experience and I would return to this hotel next time I visit Cleveland.

Stayed for one night and it was fine. Would have expected a larger room with more amenities for the reputation of the hotel. Had a nice view of downtown. Bath water wouldn't get hot. A nice hotel for the price...nice front desk staff.
A pleasant stay - posted on 11/04/2005
We had a pleasant stay here. The room was of average size but clean and I liked the bathroom features. The staff was wonderful and recommended lots of things to see and do since we have never been to Cleveland before. The hotel location is sort of on the edge of downtown but we thought most attractions like the Rock and Roll Hall and Warehouse (entertainment) District were within reasonable walking distance. There are also some wonderful old theaters across the street. We're already planning a future visit!
Enjoyed our stay - posted on 10/28/2005
We enjoyed our stay here. My wife enjoys theater and there are 5 beautifully restored theaters across the street at Playhouse Square--we attended several shows. Some of the other attractions of Downtown Cleveland like the Rock Hall or Flats are a bit of a walk but certainly within 20-30 minutes--which we didn't mind. The room was average sized but did have some nice amenities. The staff was pleasant and very helpful in recommending things to see and do. We were pleasantly surprised with all the art and cultural attactions in Cleveland...this town deserves much better press than it gets!
Just OK - posted on 10/17/2005
I stayed here for four days on business. I got the king room I requested, but the room was very small, not like in the pictures. The room was not made up one day at all, and, like others, I was charged for the "free" local phone calls. On the other hand, the conference rooms were nice, and you can walk to things like Jacobs Field and Playhouse Square (actually the lake too, tho' that was more of a hike).

I stayed here for a conference. Like others, I had trouble with housekeeping, including one day where my room was not cleaned. However, I found the front desk staff helpful, and the shuttle service was fine. They had the king bed requested, but as the room itself was small there was no nightstand, so the desk had to do double duty. There was no closet either, rather an armoire. Many of the stores in the area are vacant, so had to walk toward the stadium area to find something to eat as the hotel food was not particularly good. Basically so-so.

The remote control to the TV did not work. We notified front desk. They said they would send someone to correct it. This did not happen. Therefore, we will probably not stay at this hotel chain again.

Wouldn't honor our "by request" perks, reserved a king room but upon arrival, it wasn't available. One day our room was not made up until late in the afternoon, and we had to beg for clean towels several times that day. Desk personnel too interested in personal conversations than in helping customers.
Staying elsewhere in the future - posted on 10/25/2004
Many of the "guaranteed" perks were not delivered unless we forced the issue. The staff was not courteous when these issues were brought to their attention. The shuttle NEVER ran for the three days we were there. We were billed for the "free" internet access and "free" long distance phone calls THEY OFFERED TO US. We were then interrogated about WHO offered such a thing when we went to check out. The attitudes of the staff are unacceptable. Dining room food is good, but at those prices, it should be!!! Way too pricey for what you get.
