Size matters - posted on 08/13/2006
We were in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite for 159/night. For the price, it was terrific. However, the room was threadbare and run down. The staff were friendly and helpful; the lobby and common rooms are very nice. The neighborhood is very desolate at night and I don't recommend single travelers venture out at night without the shuttle bus and someone waiting with you at the elevators to go to the 5th floor lobby.

The hotel appears to be going under a much needed renovation. Fair is about all I can say about this place.
marginal hotel, but very helpful staff - posted on 03/15/2006
This location is older and really needs to be updated. The lobby is on the 5th floor and you take a convuluted trail to get there from the dark/old parking garage. Although the lobby and dining area are nice, the rooms are run down. On an up note, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We didn't like the hotel on arrival, but left feeling that we recd a pretty good value for the price.
Never again - posted on 03/01/2006
Parking garage was shady, room was old and dirty, furniture breaking, breakfast was the worst I have ever tasted, long wait to check in and out, if someone paid me to stay there again, I probably wouldn't do it.
Not The Usual Embassy - posted on 02/28/2006
This hotel was not at all what we have come to expect from an Embassy Suite. The rooms are nice, but the only helpful staff was the maid service and the valet. The only item that was cooked to order at breakfast was the omelets and when the bill came, the price was higher than had been quoted online. They did adjust it once it was brought to their attention.
Good value at Embassy Suites in Downtown Cleveland - posted on 12/03/2005
It's a former apartment building converted to a hotel so many of the suites are quite large. The complimentary breakfast is very good and we found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Most of the attractions [and we found many] of Downtown Cleveland are west of the hotel, but most within a mile or so [or a 20 minute walk.] The highlight of our visit was attending a concert to hear the Cleveland Orchestra at the absolutely gorgeous Severence Hall--about 4 miles west of downtown in University Circle.
Clean the Rooms Better! - posted on 09/05/2005
This si the second time I'm submittieng a comment! The room had food under the table, sock under the bed, trash in the corner! Clean the Rooms better!
Dirty Rooms - posted on 08/09/2005
I chose the Embayssy suites for the room size, however were filthy and furniture broken down. There was an old grape under the table, a hair on the table, a sock under the bed, trash in the bedroom. The non-smoking room smelled of cigarettes. We had our room changed. It was better, but not up to par. The sofa bed was broken and coudn't be closed, the trash in the bedroom hadn't been emptied, and there was no hand grip in the bathtub (not good for the elderly. NEVER AGAIN will I stay at an Embassy Suites Hotel.

Complimentary Manager's Reception (free cocktails) and made to order breakfast make this downtown hotel one of the finest values in Cleveland
extremely nice - posted on 12/26/2004
I took my wife to see the Browns play for her birthday. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness during the snow. The staff was very polite and attentative to any needs. The suites were very nice. There is a complimentary shuttle to take you anywhere downtown and taxis waiting at the door. Unbelievable value for the money. Highly recommend.
My Hotel - posted on 11/18/2004
I threw my, 12 year old son, a lovely birthday bash. The room was large enough to accomodate 16 guests. I was extremely please to see that the room came with an "at home kitchen." The separate bedroom which included two queen size beds was an added plus. The lobby was very inviting. The hotel also provides each guest with a daily news paper outside the door each morning.. My experience with the Embassy Suites Downtown Cleveland was Terriffic! That's why I call it, My Hotel. I will most definitely be back, whenever I'm looking for a luxury hotel.

Complimentary happy hour had surprisingly good wine and dinner was excellent! Unfortunately, breakfast was horrible and the cleaning staff disconcerting. First the room was very dirty. Second, the maid yelled at me. When I walked out of my room, a maid cleaning another room came out and yelled at me for slamming doors.
Stay Was Excellent - posted on 08/29/2004
We were there for one night and did not have the opportunity to take in all hotel had to offer. For the time we were there however, our stay was excellent. The suite was great for our family and the breakfast option in the morning, the kids loved. We did not take valet parking and getting to the 5th floor checkin proved challenging, but once there our stay was great. I would definitely used this hotel again.
