Ideal location, but don't expect to get any sleep - posted on 09/11/2006

Pros: Front desk/reservations staff was very helpful and courteous, Sunday brunch was decent, beds were clean and comfortable, bathrooms were clean and neat, location was primo! Cons: Hotel unable to control its unruly and loud guests who partied till 3-4 am, walls were too thin, construction went on at night at 3:30 am (!), valet took too long, standard rooms were startlingly tiny.

No Sleep - posted on 07/05/2006

My new husband and I were woken up several times through out the night and early morning by very loud/drunk guests in the two rooms next to us. There was also a bill from the previous occupant left IN the hotal bed so we are not sure if the sheets were changed. Lastly, the elevators are VERY slow.

Not What I expected - posted on 07/04/2006

The Lobby is beautiful! The room was small, paint was chipping off the ceiling. There was a large crack in the tub that looked like it had been painted over. Not what I expected from the Hilton.

Not what I expected - posted on 06/28/2006

Booked this hotel due to the "Hilton" name and the distance to downtown. I booked a Superior Room and was gravely disappointed. The room was no bigger than some I've stayed in on cruise ships. The bathroom was about as big as a postage stamp. The ice machines never worked. I ordered room service a pizza took 1hour to be delivered They sent it complimentary after the long wait. The Bed linens where old, thin and worn. Not what was described on the hotels website.

Enjoyed the Weekend! - posted on 01/17/2006

We enjoyed the ambience of this fine old hotel. They continued the Art Deco by keeping up the restoration and commitment to remaining in the time period. Would book a room at this hotel again, and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in a romantic, nostalgic, and intimate weekend experience.

Good Experience - posted on 07/27/2005

This is an interesting 1930 Deco hotel that's been completely redone. The rooms were large, probably due to the extensive 2004 renovation, and the beds were very comfortable, up to the Hilton standards. Grab the historical guide and tour the ballrooms, restaurant and bar.

Nice stay - posted on 06/16/2005

I had a very nice stay and the only thing I regret was that I didnt see the view from the top floor. The gym was ok, but it was somewhat inconvenient to get from the locker room to the pool.

I have stayed there a few times and room sizes vary but the food is superb, and the service is great.

Christmas Treat - posted on 12/26/2004

The renovation of this grand hotel is breathtaking. The suites are serene with enough space for several adults to relax and visit. The bed was heaven (great mattress, plenty of fluffy pillows, and heafty down comforter). The hotel staff was pleasant and ready to serve. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. In fact, my family has decided to make this hotel part of our Christmas tradition. For those who like bland, antiseptic hotels, this is not for you. Nostalgia, romance, and customer service of days gone by are the focus here.
