The hotel has an old world charm, with spacious rooms and views of the surrounding neighborhoods. If you have a laptop computer, there is a charge for hooking up for internet access. This is refunded when you turn the hook-up device back in, but it was not explained clearly by staff. The hotel is centrally located by area attractions, and the view from the rooftop is excellent, especially at night! The air conditioning is a standard room air conditioner.

Seeing a hotel with individual air-conditioning units sticking out of all the windows was disconcerting, but given that this is an old hotel, not too surprising. We were pleased with the spaciousness of the room. We were on the second floor and it was a very nice room. I just wish they had included a comp breakfast. If they did, we didn't know about it.

I love the history of the hotel, it is maintained well. One must consider the difficulties of maintaining a historic hotel. The suites on the upper floors are much nicer/well maintained than the normal rooms on lower floors. The view and large room was beautiful. The complimentary breakfast is average and not worth the price. Neighborhood is not nice, but getting around Cinncinati is easy from this central location. Front desk staff is helpful, as well as the direction sheets in the lobby.

The lobby was very shabby and dirty. There were actually pieces of paper and other litter in the lobby and in the elevator. The food at the restaurant was fine, but nothing extra. Also, the neighborhood isn't the greatest. There are many much more beautiful areas in Cincinnati.

I was very excited about staying in this historic hotel, but left after one night. The floor that my room was on smelled terribly. The linens on my bed were so soiled and torn that I opted to sleep on top of the covers. The hallways had several large pieces of disgarded furniture that made me uncomfortable (as a single woman traveler) as they obstructed my view of the hallway. The staff was very nice and gave me no problems about cancelling the rest of my stay, but I would never ever stay here again.
