Cincinnati

Located along the banks of the Ohio River, Cincinnati is a unique city that provides much to see and do, but all at a relaxed pace. Its rolling hills serve as a backdrop for a city filled with an interesting history, museums, galleries and great restaurants. It won’t take long until you discover this unhurried pace and enjoy a fantastic trip.

The Public Landing is a beautiful riverside walk that stretches over a mile long. You’ll see a history of the river commerce that put Cincinnati on the map. Enjoy the painted showboats and other river crafts as they tell a story of a different era. There are many other walkways in the downtown area that connect you to various points of interest. Choose to come for dinner, go to a club or museum, you’ll find it all downtown. The restaurants in Cincinnati range from German, Italian and French to good old fashion American cuisine. You’ll find the perfect place to satisfy your hunger. An interesting place for the trendier restaurants is Mt. Adams. It’s worth the visit.

For those who enjoy the water but prefer it at a fast pace, go to Surf Cincinnati Waterpark. It’s a great place to get drenched. And when you need to dry off, you can cruise along a go-cart track or try your luck at miniature golf. Not enough adventure for you? Try out Paramount’s Kings Island. There are more than 80 rides at this theme park for you to try out. And with names like Son of Beast, the tallest, fastest and only looping wooden coaster in the world, and Drop Zone, the longest wooden coaster for over 25 years, you’ll be glad you came. There’s a great kids section and water park as well so all your adventure seekers will love what Kings Island has to offer.

A must see is the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. It’s a $110-million museum that describes 500 years of oppression. Its focus is on humanity's quest for freedom. The three pavilions provide interactive displays that include educational activities, films, and an old wooden slave pen that was recovered from nearby Kentucky.

Cincinnati is a thriving city that has maintained an easygoing pace. But don’t let that fool you into thinking that there isn’t much to see and do. A trip here is well worth it and you may even enjoy this pace enough to take some back home with you.
