It seems whatever your interests may be Ohio has the perfect place for you to explore. Ohio makes great use of its fantastic river systems. It’s not uncommon to find wonderful restaurants, clubs and boutiques located along the riverbanks. Plus, you can always enjoy your time on the rivers as well. If you’re really a water enthusiast though head over to Lake Erie. There is a wealth of amazing water activities for you to enjoy but one of the more popular ones is to fish. The islands within the lake’s borders are also a lot of fun to explore. If you’re still interested in all things related to water you’ll love the Santa Maria, located on the Scioto River. This full-size replica of Columbus’ three-masted ship has been permanently moored here giving you plenty of time to enjoy its presence. The Columbus Zoo and aquarium is also location along the Scioto River and has a fantastic collection of wildlife for you to learn about. Land lovers will definitely appreciate the beautiful parks within Ohio’s borders. Two worth mentioning include the Franklin Park Conservatory and the Whestone Park. Franklin Park has a fantastic collection of tropical gardens and the Whestone has one of the largest rose gardens in the nation.
The Center of Science and Industry, also known as COSI, is a must for any potential Einsteins traveling with you. The hands-on exhibits provide kids with many interesting science lessons. The US Air Force Museum is great for flight enthusiasts, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is an absolute must for music lovers and the Pro Football Hall of Fame is a Mecca for the pigskin fans. Ohio truly does offer something for everyone. One of the very best places to visit in this state though is the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. Focusing on humanity’s quest for freedom the pavilions provide you with much to think about.
Ohio’s best claim to fame is Cedar Point. Voted as the best park on the planet and visited by thousands (and thousands) of visitors every year, you will absolutely love all the rides and of course the delicious food. There more than 150 attractions, including 16 make-your-stomach-lurch rollercoasters. If you’re not terribly interested in being turned upside down you can always enjoy a great boat and train ride. Ohio also offers you Paramount’s Kings Island. With names like Son of Beast and Drop Zone you’ll definitely get your fill of great amusement park rides. Surf Cincinnati is another place to enjoy a few rides, but you’ll want to pack your bathing suit.
