About the Budget Inn Express Grand Forks

This Budget Inn Express rests on the former site of the Westward Ho, a very popular family lodging spot with a boot-shaped pool, amazing game room and more. Be aware that the highlights have all but been washed away. This is a totally different hotel, not the Westward Ho under a new name. Even the pool which was taken out by a flood, but replaced by one of standard variety. Guests will find themselves very close to the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks International Airport, River City Speedway, Englestad Arena, the Alerus Events Center, Turtle River State Park and Altru Hospital. It's also convenient to the North Dakota Museum of Art, North Dakota Ballet Company, the Dakota Science Center and the Greater Grand Forks Convention Center. There is an outdoor pool, and free parking for registered guests. Pets are allowed, as well.

This is a basic, very basic, Budget Inn Express with few usable amenities and plenty of health concerns. Guest claims of overpowering musty smells, observable mold in the bathrooms and outdoor areas could be the sign of a health risk. Plumbing issues from broken shower heads to tubs that wont drain caused unrest, but the bed linens were the worst. Dirty, worn to the point of having holes, and dirty towels not being replaced during cleanings left guests with a definite ICK factor, and lead many to lose their money and find lodging elsewhere. Budget Inn Express Grand Forks Accommodations

Accommodations are extremely basic here. There are two room designs - one double bed, or two. Guests will find a television in each room along with two phones. Each unit also has their own air conditioning system. Preference for non-smoking rooms can be noted, but might not be available.

Amenities offered

The Westward Ho was famed for the extras that made this spot a great place to stay. Please remember, ownership has changed. There's been damage due to flooding. This is not the Westward Ho and doesn't have the same amenities of that hotel. The Budget Inn Express in Grand Forks offers limited cleaning service each day. There is an outdoor pool and sunbathing area, as well as an outdoor whirlpool. Pets are welcome, even for guests staying for an extended period of time. They also make free parking available for their registered guests.
