Not a place to stay - posted on 05/14/2007
Walls are paper thin, you can hear everything going on in the hotel, even hear the beeps on the microwave. Stains on side of bed sheets. No hot water in the morning, when told the front desk, they would give us $10 back, but not if we paid cash!!!!!!!!!

This is the best place to stay in Grand Forks by far! The most reasonably priced hotel with a pool and a continental breakfast! Very friendly and helpful staff. Newly remodeled, repaved parking lot, this property is improving by leaps and bounds! We had an excellent stay!

This hotel has made vast improvements over the past few months. Ignore previous reviews, this is a great place to stay. Awesome staff, very responsive to guest needs, very clean rooms, good location. Try a theme suite!
Very poor experience... - posted on 02/23/2006
We were very disappointed in this hotel because the indoor pool was not operating and nobody bothered to call us and tell us it was shut down due to repair. Also the drain plug in the sink was stuck shut,(we had to move to a different room). Then, the lamp didn't work; the shower did not work properly. The hallways stunk of smoke. We so looked forward to a swim, and yet couldn't. This was a very unpleasant experience and we had wished we never picked this hotel.
Not the Hilton for sure - posted on 02/21/2006
We were not advised that the pool was not working. We booked one of the theme suites for Saturday night because we had kids with us and without the pool there was nothing for them to do. They gave us a discount on the suite but when we came back on Saturday they had rented it out for full price. Our TV broke and they wanted us to come down and get it (two women). Not a good experience at all.

The hotel somewhat met our needs as we were staying there for a concert. However, the bathroom floor was very moldy, the hotel was not very sound proof and the bed was the worst I have ever slept in. You could hear conversations in the hall very clearly. It was OK but we have a child and we would not stay there with her.

The room was clean, service very good, the price was right. The price was the deciding factor! Thank you.
What a disappointment! - posted on 10/31/2005
We will never stay at a Settle Inn again. The one good thing about it was the price. Now we know why. We had no where to hang our clothes. There was not a rack to hang our things up so we had to use the bathroom door which made it inconvenient to shut the door for privacy.

I had a problem with the hotel cleanliness and I am writing directly to the hotel

Words alone can't not describe this hotel and it's smell. If stains on the wall aren't enough to keep you away...the smell in the halls and the rooms will!
Not a nice place - posted on 06/27/2005
Not a very nice place at all. I left my hair dryer at home as I assumed all hotels had them, wrong!! We were also disappointed that there was no in room coffee pot. My bed had potato chips crumbs in it that I did not put there. We will not stay there again.

We had to wait 3 hours to check in. our room was small, hall was nosiy and dirty. We couldn't wait to go home.
Needs Update - posted on 04/13/2005
Rooms are small, cramped and outdated. Kids running up and down hall. Room smelled of smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. There are other hotels in Grand Forks that are far better at similar prices.
