lack of sleep - posted on 04/11/2007
Overall this place is ok for the price. Room smelled a bit over-perfumed. Main problem was the noise. My room was next to a service room and staff clamoring around in there at all hours of the night. To run the room fan fulltime to drown out noise means running without the heat. Running the heat means the fans goes on and off so when the fan was off I could hear all kinds of noises. I was very frustrated by being awakened all thru the night. Next time in Grand Forks, I'll pay a little more to stay somewhere else.

Not a bad stay for what you paid. The rooms were relatively clean, the desk staff friendly. The only problem we had was one morning we were out of the room late and although the cleaning staff saw us leaving, when we returned that evening our room had not been made up. Although the manager was apologetic there was no effort on his part to make amends by offering to move us to another room etc.

Rooms were not thoroughly cleaned. Smelled very stale in rooms, perhaps air freshener should be used. Not terrible just not great, you get what you pay for.
Was not worth the money we paid. - posted on 05/30/2006
We expected a little better. We found the room that we stayed in was not clean. The complimentary breakfast not very appetizing. We had to go to a restaurant to get a half decent breakfast. We would not tell our friends about this place.

My daughter attends UND so I have stayed here numerous times. For the money, it?s a great little place to stay. What they lack in frilly amenities they make up with the spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms. The staff is very friendly and does their best to accommodate all requests. Another plus is that they have rooms with direct access to the outside, which is a real convenience, since I travel with a medium sized dog. I highly recommend this place for anyone who?ll be satisfied by its basic amenities.

This hotel was exactly what I was looking for. It was clean, safe, and affordable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple, but organized and clean. When I go back to Grand Forks, I will certainly stay at the Econo Lodge! Thank you!
A Fine Experience - posted on 12/04/2005
Hotel was actually much nicer than I thought it would be. Light switch didn't work, but the room was large, clean, and comfortable. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. Well worth the price.
Poor Facility - posted on 08/18/2005
Uncomfortable beds; room and public bathroom smelt like urine; A/C didn't cool room correctly; flooring looked as though it was done by a home handyman and it was his very first attempt. Will never stay there again and will recommend no one else ever does.
Overpriced - posted on 01/10/2005
I found that the hotel was overpriced for what you paid for. Not a hotel I would recommend. Staff were very freindly and helpful, but still not enough to offer as far as ammenities.
Cleanliness of rooms - posted on 12/08/2004
I don't know if the sheets on the bed were clean ; the heater/air conditioner in the room could use an update. Overall are stay was o.k. but I would not recommened this place to anyone.

If you want to get any sleep, I advise staying away from the room with the ice machine right outside the door.
Service Was Very Friendly And Attentive - posted on 07/28/2004
Service was very friendly and attentive. That's basically where it ends. We booked two rooms, a single and a double. The double had a sink that leaked on the ground. The single had the ceiling leak in the bathroom above the tub. The air conditioning went the second night in the double, and neither room had complimentary shampoos for the shower. "Breakfast" consisted of toast and coffee. The experience was tolerable only because it was one of the only hotels left in Grand Forks to book with.
