My husband and I went here on our honeymoon. We got a great room, wonderful view and we had a great time. The staff was great, answered all of our questions and the continental breakfast was actually good! I'd stay here again.

The bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was good too!

It was a little farther off the beach than I was told.

The 62-room Microtel Inn Shallotte provides budget-priced accommodation equally suited to the vacationer or business traveler. Items included with the room rate are a continental breakfast, high-speed wireless Internet access, local telephone calls, parking and tea and coffee available in the lobby. The property is located on Highway 17 between Wilmington and North Myrtle Beach and is five miles from the Atlantic coast beaches. Area landmarks and attractions include numerous golf courses, Ocean Isle Beach, Brunswick Community College, Fort Fisher, Battleship North Carolina, Brunswick Community Hospital, the Southport Art Museum, the Southport Maritime Museum and shopping at the Colonial Mall.

The rooms come with a choice of one or two queen size beds. Does HotelsByCity recommend this hotel?

This is the least popular of the Shallotte hotels but it is the least expensive. Several guests complained about poor housekeeping but there were clients, on a budget, who said they enjoyed their stay and would stay at the property again. They said the breakfast was far better than expected and they got good advice from the front desk about the area golfing and the best beaches to visit. That earns the property the YES rating. Sadly other guests said they would spend more dollars next time hoping to enjoy more comfortable and better facilities.
