Nice clean hotel & rooms. Great continental breakfast! Movie theatre and restaurant right across the parking lot. Desk clerks were kind of grumpy but the maid staff was very friendly. Would definitely stay there again!

Spacious room with refrigerator and great continental breakfast.

Desk clerks did not smile much.

The 74-room Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites Kinston is located off US 70 midway between Raleigh and the Carolina Coast and provides quality affordable accommodation for both the business and leisure traveler. Items included with the room rate at this three-story hotel are a hot breakfast buffet, high-speed Internet access, in-room coffee, a morning newspaper, local telephone calls and parking. There is one meeting room available for business or social functions that can accommodate 30 guests. Corporate offices nearby include Electrolux, Smithfield Foods and West Pharmaceuticals. Originally established as a tobacco inspection center in 1759 the city was first known as Kingston - named for King George III of England. In 1784 following the revolutionary war the people of Kingston requested the letter G be dropped.

Several guests who stayed at this Holiday Inn Express said the rooms were cozy and the cheerful crew of employees provided the best in southern hospitality. Many liked the fresh-baked cookies available every afternoon in the lobby and said the complimentary breakfast made a great start to a Carolina morning. There were some minor moans that the property needed updating but that was offset by the reasonable rates.
