We're looking for a place for our many family visits to Charlotte. This hotel would be a consideration in our search for future visits.Searching all over internet for best price, etc would seem to be an unecessary, time consuming exercise -bidding war for the same hotel (?)- but I guess it probably works for companies and business travelers.

Friendly maintenance staff.

Saw hugest cockroach ever in my life; 1st room dirty; 2nd room fridge wobbled and smelly; very small bed.

A little far out of the way for my purposes, but overall typical of a Residence Inn with a couple of glitches.

Breakfast was outstanding.

Missing ironing board, coffee maker leaked.

The pet-friendly Residence Inn by Marriott Charlotte Piper Glen provides extended stay accommodation well suited to both the leisure and business traveler. The five-story, non-smoking hotel consists of 144 suites each with a full kitchen and separate living and sleeping areas. The hotel is located near the Ballantyne-Piper Glen area with easy access to I-485 and I-77. Items included in the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet, a managers reception on Monday through Thursday evenings, local telephone calls, high-speed Internet access and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. There is one room available for business or social functions that can accommodate 30 guests. Area landmarks and attractions include uptown Charlotte, five golf courses, Lowe's Motor Speedway, Charlotte Convention Center, Bank of America Stadium, home of the Charlotte Panthers, the Paramount Carowinds theme park and the Charlotte Bobcats Arena.

Former visitors to this Residence Inn liked the location, across the street from stores and within walking distance of several good restaurants. The price was reasonable when you considered all the extras and the employees went out of their way to be friendly and efficient. Most guests said they would return here on future visits to Charlotte and would recommend the property to family and friends.
