This 262-room property is now the Renaissance Charlotte South Park, a seven-story suburban hotel in an office park four miles from downtown. The hotel is well equipped for both business and leisure travelers and has 15 meeting rooms available for seminars, banquets and weddings. The property is within easy driving distance of the Bobcat Arena (NBA), South Park Mall, Queens University, Charlotte Convention Center, Bank of America Stadium (NFL) and Carowinds Amusement Park. In addition to its regular rooms and suites the hotel has larger rooms designed for families. It also has special package deals for shoppers with a $50 gift card to use at any store in the nearby South Park Mall as an incentive.

There was some confusion when this hotel switched from a Hyatt property to become a Marriott Renaissance hotel. Guests complained that Marriott had not moved fast enough to bring it up to the Renaissance brand. That is now all in the past and more recent guests say they enjoy the quieter surroundings away from the city center. Hyatt Charlotte Accommodations

All rooms have individually controlled air conditioning and fully equipped bathrooms with hairdryer. Other amenities include Internet access, coffee and tea making facilities, iron and ironing board, satellite TV with pay-per-view movies and IDD telephone with voicemail. There is no charge for local calls and room service operates from 6am until midnight.

The hotel’s Fountain grill is open for breakfast lunch and dinner and snacks and dinner are available at the lobby bar. The hotel has an indoor pool and fitness center and there are jogging trails and tennis courts nearby. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and can handle currency exchange. From Charlotte Airport (CLT) 8 miles: Take Billy Graham Parkway South (direction I-77.) Exit Tyvola Road (right.) Stay on Tyvola Road - name changes to Fairview. Turn left on Barclay Downs Road and left on Barclay Downs Road and left on Carnegie Road where the hotel is situated.
