The 80-room Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Boone is set in North Carolina’s majestic Blue Ridge Mountains and provides budget-priced accommodation for both business and leisure traveler. The three-story, non-smoking inn is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the numerous shops at the Tanger Outlets center. The inn has three meeting room for social or business functions. The largest can accommodate 100 guests. Area landmarks and attractions include three golf courses, Grandfather Mountain, the Tweetsie Railroad and Appalachian State University.

Clean, comfortable and convenient: These adjectives appeared in many reviews written by travelers who spent time at this North Carolina inn. Some said that this was not the greatest Fairfield Inn but the extensive breakfast buffet, affordable rates and friendly folk at reception more than compensated for the small swimming pool and creaky wooden floors. All the guestrooms, and 20 suites, have a work desk with high-speed Internet access, cable television with movie channels, pullout sofa bed, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, separate shower and bathtub with spray jets, and two-line telephone with voicemail. The more expensive suites have the added benefit of a mini-refrigerator, microwave oven and CD player.

The complimentary breakfast is the only meal served here but there are restaurants nearby including a Chick Fil-A, Makato’s and a Ruby Tuesday. The inn has an indoor swimming pool and an exercise room. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include a fax and copying machine available for guest use, vending machines, a coin-operated laundry and a dry cleaning service.

From Charlotte Airport (CLT) 85 miles: Take Hwy 321 into Gastonia and then continue on 321 North to Blowing Rock. Three miles before arriving in Boone, the hotel will on Blowing Rock Road on the right side.
