This resort was an enjoyable short stay. The rooms were very clean and inviting. The request for a crib from the housekeeping staff was swift and friendly. There were an astonishing 5 pillows on the bed, and a clean white duvet cover. The 2 hotel restaurants were a little pricey and didn't look very kid friendly, but there is a Denny's restaurant near by. Call the hotel to get specific directions for arrival, otherwise you might miss the entrance as it sits on a busy curve in the road.

The plush linens and pillows on the bed were very inviting for one tired traveler.

A little hard to locate the driveway, which is hidden on a curve.

The stone fireplace and flagstone throughout enhanced the vacation-in-the-mountain feeling. The restaurant compared favorably to the several upscale restaurants we at which we ate in the area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A very pleasant experience for the dollar.

The staff friendliness was great.

Slightly difficult to find off the highway.

The pet-friendly Crowne Plaza Tennis and Golf Resort-Asheville is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains one mile from downtown Asheville and comprises 272 rooms designed for the upmarket leisure traveler. The rooms have private balconies with views of the hotels golf course. The resort is 15 miles from the Asheville Regional Airport and within minutes of many attractions including the Biltmore Estate, Blue Ridge Parkway, Whitewater Rafting and the North Carolina Arboretum. Items included with the room rate at this five-story, non-smoking resort are high-speed Internet access, local telephone calls, in-room coffee, a morning newspaper and parking. There is more than 34,000 square feet of flexible meeting space including a new 16,600 square feet Expo Center.

This Crowne Plaza is not the luxury resort that many visitors to Asheville were expecting. We still give it the YES rating because the hotel does offer great value for money and it is does have a good assortment of recreational activities. Most clients said the rooms were spotlessly clean and well equipped but the grounds could be improved with some TLC. Complaints about the on-site nine-hole golf course being unattractive will stop now that the course has been upgraded. Many guests said they would stay here again because of the reasonable prices and recommend the property to others with the proviso that this not a five-star resort but a hotel with friendly and efficient employees and in easy reach of the scenic areas that North Carolina is noted for.
