The Blue Moon Hotel is super-small boutique hotel in the heart of New York City's downtown. Located on Orchard Street, it's close to the famous Forman's boutique, as well as several great Jewish delicatessens. This area is full of fun things to do, with oodles of shopping and nightlife. Several subway lines are within walking distance, and a stroll up Broadway will take you right into the heart of the West Village. There are a lot of museums and cultural spots in this part of the City. Chinatown and Little Italy are a short journey away, as well. Come at the right time of year, and you might stumble across a street fair or two. The Blue Moon Hotel is one of National Geographic's "150 Hotels You'll Love".

The Blue Moon Hotel is a lovely place to stay. For accommodations that aren't stuffy, pretentious, or bare, this is the hotel to book. It's especially fun for history buffs who want to step back in time. In the past few years, they've cleaned up some wrinkles in service, and have renovated the property. The price is also lower than many comparable starred hotels in pricey New York City. This would be a nice choice for a young couple or singles. Older travelers will like it, too. Blue Moon Hotel Accommodations

As stated previously, this is a really tiny hotel. With only 22 rooms, guests are in a truly intimate environment. There are 6 premier suites for the luxury traveler. All rooms are over 320 square feet in size, and some offer a view. The decor is period authentic, with many of the old fixtures and mouldings still in place. Rooms are named after 1930s and 40s celebrities in a homage to the hotel's roots.

The Blue Moon seeks to make your stay home-like and comfortable. Every guest is treated to a free continental breakfast with fresh juices and pastries from local area Kosher bakeries. There are 5 levels of rooms: Pied-a-terre, Cozy, Deluxe, Luxury, and Quintessential. Four types have a balcony. The two top level offer a hydrotherapeutic bath. All rooms have free WiFi internet, ironing kit, cable, safe, alarm clock, and refrigerator with mini bar. The bathroom is equipped with period fixtures and luxury toiletries.

Take the exit for the Brooklyn/Queens Expressway. Stay on the Brooklyn/Queens Expressway and there will be a left exit for the Williamsburg Bridge into Manhattan. After the bridge ends, stay straight on Delancey Street. Turn left onto Allen Street. Make the first left onto Broome Street, then an immediate left onto Orchard Street. The hotel's address is 100 Orchard Street, located between Broome and Delancey Streets. Directions from JFK International Airport Head north on the Van Wyck Expressway. Take the exit for the Long Island Expressway west and bear right to enter the Brooklyn/Queens Expressway. Stay on the Brooklyn/Queens Expressway and there will be a left exit for the Williamsburg Bridge into Manhattan. After the bridge ends, stay straight on Delancey Street. Turn left onto Allen Street. Directions from Newark International Airport Merge onto US 1 & 9 North. US 1 & 9 North becomes 12th Street. Turn left onto West Broadway, then right onto Grand Street. Turn left onto Centre Street, then right on Kenmare Street. Kenmare Street becomes Delancey Street.
