Having not been to NYC since I was a teenager, I was skeptical about what to expect. The hotel was fantastic. The beds were just like home! My husband & I brought our teenage daugher and her friend, and they were amazed. I felt safe enough to walk from the hotel to Times Square by myself! The rooms were lovely and the maid service prompt. Close to everything.. including TRL (teenager heaven). We will most definitely return to this hotel again and again.

We had a very nice stay at the Westin Times Square. The location is great for the Times Square area and the Theater District. You are located at 43rd and 8th Ave.,one block west of Times Square; Good Morning America, TKTS, TRL, etc. Most Broadway theaters are within walking distance. It was nice that the Westin had an alternate entrance onto 42nd St. The room at the Westin was a very nice size for the city. With two teenage boys there was plenty of room to move around. We did not use the other amenities of the hotel as we were always out and about. Check-in and out was very easy with booking through HotelsByCity.com. We would recommend the Westin Times Square.

From the bell hop, to the front desk, to the room attendants, this hotel is First Class all the way. The room attendant even noticed (by the greeting card on the night stand) that we were celebrating our anniversary and left a chilled bottle of champaign with two glasses!

I travel to NYC with my family frequently and we always stay at the Westin. With Shula's Steakhouse right in the hotel, it makes it easy to have a quick dinner if needed. We've spent countless nights at the hotel bar our bartender even let us bring sushi into eat! The rooms at this place are great, and you've got a great view of the Hudson from certain rooms. Enjoy the Westins, it's only on block from Hell's Kitchen as well!

My husband I selected this hotel based on the reviews and pictures posted on an online travel website. Upon arrival our room was not ready for about 45 minutes. As a result we were issued rounds of complimentary drinks at the bar. The room was contemporary with nice furnishings and a very comfortable bed. We were somewhat disappointed with the noise level from the streets but I guess this is New York. Room service was expensive, $120 for three persons. People were not friendly probably because of the cold weather.

The Westin is an awesome hotel. It is located close to Broadway and Times Square with Metro stations nearby. We arrived after a long hard day in the airport. We were exhausted, and the person who checked us in was so friendly. He even upgraded our room for us. The beds are comfortable, the hotel is clean, and the decor is beautiful. I would stay there again and again. You must eat at their restaurant Shulas. It was wonderful and the service fabulous. I highly recommend this hotel.

The location is superb, the rooms are excellent with a very modern touch, and who can forget the Heavenly Bed!! The consierge was extremely helpfull and was even able to get us a dinner reservation at a trendy restaurant on a Saturday night! We will absolutely stay there again.

This hotel was in a good location. The only problem we had was the bellman who brought up our bags called housekeeping and ordered 4 bathrobes instead of 4 extra towels. We ended up with 5 robes for 3 people. We didn't even use them. Good central location.

The staff was great and after a horrible night at another hotel in New York, this hotel was a fantastic reality. The rooms and the restrooms are great. One young lady who checked us in researched her computer and website to give us the best rate and I really do appreciate it. This hotel is located in a great location for the subway transportation and other amenities. The room containes a flat screen tv and the bathroom is tiled beautifully.
great but... - posted on 10/05/2006
Nice modern hotel in convenient Times Square next to port authority, but the guest room doors slam shut, trying your patience in the morning. And the $14.95/day for high speed internet is insulting...why not charge for tv as well. Otherwise a good hotel.
Westin is the way to go. - posted on 09/20/2006
I loved my experience at the Westin in Times Square. When we checked in we were given a key to a room that was not cleaned. We had to go back down stairs with our luggage and they upgraded us to a room with a beautiful view of the city. I received a bill that was incorrect, but I quickly resolved the matter by phone before I left. Other than that, the stay was very enjoyable. Not too crowded, easy to catch an elevator, concierge was extremely helpful. We will be back, and soon.
Good hotel and Pet Friendly - posted on 09/12/2006
This hotel has a great location and is pet friendly. You get a complimentary heavenly dog pet bed and bowls. You sign a pet waiver for damage. The room was a corner one, which we requested to be away from other rooms so as not to disturb others with the dog. The hotel did give us this, it was perfect. The only thing I would improve is the knowledge of the conceirge on pet friendly restaurants so it would save us time on looking for places ourselves.

1st time in NYC. very picky. this hotel was everything that I had researched for. Comfortable beds, unbelievable shower, close to all midtown areas Subway close by. Upgrade to club level--free breakfast--pastries, cereal, fruit, bagels-- Evening had hot food, cheeses, crackers, veggies, sodas and water--a different hot entree each day we were there--a perfect snack before dinner. Customer service was exceptional--we had a discrepency with internet charges and were comped all charges--no questions asked--I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed this hotel and would recommend to anyone!

I was impressed with the hotel. The beds were "heavenly" particularly after a long day of walking. The view from the room was spectacular and the room was spacious. One area that needs improvement is the concierge service. While there was one concierge who was knowledgable and fabulous, the others ranged from mediocre to not having up-to-date information, provided incorrect directions and overall were of no help. I hope they work on this area so they rise to the quality of the hotel in its other areas. However, I would recommend the Hotel to others and I would go back as well.
Luxury for moderate price - posted on 08/06/2006
The Westin is a luxurious hotel. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed. The double shower head in the bath is most enjoyable. The white, black, gray color theme is elegant.

I recently visited the Westin hotel and it was awesome except for the customer service people behind the counter. They were a little rude and would not let us check in early. We had to be there specifically at 3:00. I thought that was really rude. We waited and finally I had another person attend me and they finally let us in our room. This hotel is a block away from Times Square and it is awesome. We stayed at the club level and the room was big compared to what we though we would get. I loved the room.

Very pleased with our first stay in NYC - posted on 07/18/2006
This was our first trip to NYC and we based our hotel choice on the past reviews of travelers listed on this website. We were not disappointed. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a great view (we were on the 22nd floor) and the service was excellent. The only problem we had was the length of time it took for them to retrive our car from the valet parking on checkout. We were told it would take up to 30 minutes-it took an hour. Keep this in mind when checking out so that you aren't late for flights, etc. Otherwise, we were very pleased and would stay here again.

I had the best steak I have ever eaten. Don't go to breakfast though. Pancakes for her, eggs for me and a pot of coffee $57.00
Quiet retreat far above Times Square - posted on 07/01/2006
Although I never stay in T.S. when I visit NY (having lived there for many years), this time I was with my neice, and knew she'd love being in the thick of things. The Westin is a bustling, large tourist hotel that offers quiet, thoughtfully appointed guest rooms. The hotel is well staffed, which is a must for such a large place. My neice enjoyed the neighborhood and the views, and I enjoyed the quiet.
Going to New York, Go Westin! - posted on 06/27/2006
The Westin Times Square is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are very spacious and clean (the maid service came in twice a day to clean our room and even left chocolates on the pillows every night). We stayed on the club level and had access to the daily buffet which was very good and very convenient. We had a corner room which included window seats overlooking Time Square. This was my children's first trip to New York and I was leary of NY hotels from some of the stories and reviews I had read online. The Westin exceeded my expectations. Don't hesitate booking with this hotel. It is worth it!!
Great Stay at Westin!!! - posted on 06/22/2006
Just got back from our first trip to New york. Our stay at the Westin was as heavenly as advertised. We arrived early and not only were allowed early check in but our room was upgraded without asking. They had the friendliest staff from the bellhop to the front desk. Our rooms were clean, beautiful, comfortable (my daughter wants to buy the pillows) and we had the best view. I highly recommend this hotel. We will definitely stay here in the future!!!
Fabulous trip - posted on 06/21/2006
The hotel is immaculate, beds are extremely comfortable - great sheets, comforter and pillows. Bathroom is brand new and completely clean. Overall appearance and service was excellent. If you're looking for a nice, clean, above average hotel, right in times square, without spending a lot, this is it. Plasma TV, mini bar, new amenities, no complaints - just remember to stick the key in the door the right way, there actually is an arrow on it at the bottom of the picture of the hotel - took us a while to figure that out. Otherwise, great experience.

As a New Yorker I usually don't take advantage of staying overnight in a hotel in the city. This was an amazing experience and would recommend staying at the Westin to anyone, whether from New York or not. The room was beautiful and spotless, for all you neat freaks. The security was great also, I walked in at 2am and was immediately asked for my room key to prove I was a guest, for you non-New Yorkers out there this is a plus. The decor is trendy and the layout great. Only thing that was not clear was how much the items were in the mini bar :-(

My husband and I stayed at the Westin Times Square for a romantic getaway. The "Heavenly" beds and showers were just that- AMAZING! We stayed in a king suite and were upgraded to a higher floor (45th), because we stayed over a Sunday night, and had an AMAZING view of the city. The windows of our room were able to open for some fresh air. The elevators are plentiful and extremely fast. The concierge and bell hops were extremely helpful and friendly. The only problem we had at all was the front desk clerk was a little rude and short with us at check-in. Overall, a wonderful hotel.

They have the same beds at the Westin, Time Square, but that's about it. The room was tiny. The bathrooms have black tiles which were not too clean & there was a fine layer of dust everywhere. I just felt things were not clean. I wasn't very impressed but the price was good.

Disappointed in room quality - posted on 09/17/2005
We booked a deluxe king room. What we got was a below average room. Paint peeling in the bathroom, mildew spilling out the HVAC vent in the bedroom. The temperature controls did not work properly. It took over 3 hours to get our bags delivered to the room. We liked the central location and the doorman was fabulous. This did not, however, outweigh the poor quality of the room.

Service was lacking - posted on 08/10/2005
Size & quality of hotel room was very good for NYC. Escalator was broke during most of our stay. Took over 2 hours for the bellhop to bring luggage to the room after checkin. Maid forgot to provide fresh towels after cleaning. Took 2 phone calls to finally get the towels. Concierge was very helpful - gave us directions to a diner which served good food at a reasonable price. Did not like location in the middle of Times Square-noisy & touristy. Is within a block or two of most major broadway theatres. Okay hotel, at best, considering the price.

Not What I Expected - posted on 07/13/2005
I read all of the reviews and I thought this hotel would be "IT." We had a corner room which was nice but the view of construction was not for my husband. The escalator did not work in the hotel for the 3 days we were there. The maid never cleaned our room and when she finally came up after our complaints she didn't have any wash cloths. A warning alarm went off in the hotel and left us and other hotel guests scurrying down the stairs to safety. We did 33 flights and my legs are still stiff and hurting. This was not the experience I was looking for. I will not stay there again.
