Front desk extremely helpful, recommended an Indian restaurant that was right on! Rooms small but what I expected for what I paid for, very clean and organized though. Only drawback is location, if you're willing to walk a little or take a cab back at night then go for it.

The best western convention center in NYC was a wonderful experience. I took a red eye flight and the welcoming desk clerk arranged for me to check in early. The room was spotless. It was small, but so are most all rooms in NY. All staff was professional but very friendly. They even printed out my boarding pass for me on their computer. The location of this hotel is perfect for a NY visit. One block in either direction is the uptown and downtown bus. You can walk to times square and the empire state building. The only downside could be the block which the hotel is on. It is rather desolate, there is a 24 hour taxi repair shop and that is about it. On either side are huge construction sites with loud banging from 7 am to 5 pm. Get a room on the upper floors to have less noise. These things did not affect my trip; the nice room and central location were worth it. It was very safe. I walked home one night at midnight with no problem. If you are not a seasoned traveler who is used to big cities you might feel uncomfortable. I am a 60-year-old woman who was traveling alone. I live in a large urban environment.

Best Western Convention Center Hotel is in a bustling section of New York City, located near Times Square and Jacob Javits Convention Center. Travelers looking for a good place to stay while doing business at the Center will appreciate the short commute and affordable prices. A short walk brings travelers to various subway lines, Theater Row, great restaurants, and fun family activities. Since the Best Western Convention Center Hotel doesn't have extras like a pool or fitness center, it will be up to the guest to create their own amusement in the Big Apple. For food, simply order in from any number of delis and eateries in the area.
